Arwen Undmiel was born in SA 241 to Elrond Half-Elven and Celebrian of Lothlorien. As she grew in years she became very beautiful, with hair the color of night and eyes that twinkled like stars, and so the people of Imladris called her "evening star".

In SA 2509 Celebrian recieved a poison wound when Orcs ambushed her company heading to Lothlorien. Elrond healed her, but Celebrian had lost all love for Middle-earth, and so departed over the Sea to the Undying Lands.

Many years after the departure of her mother, Arwen went to Lothlorien to visit with her mother's kin, and see her grandparent's, Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. Around this time, Aragorn, son of Arathorn came to stay in the safety of Imladris at his mother's request. There Elrond gave him the name of Estel, meaning hope and decided to keep his true identity from him until he reached manhood.

Years passed and Arwen came back from Lothlorien where Aragorn beheld her for the first time, and immediatly fell in love with her. But at that time Arwen did not love him back and so Aragorn went out into the wilderness.

Then in the year SA 2980, by fate, Aragorn met Arwen in Lothlorien. Arwen looked upon him for the first time since their last meeting, but not as a mere mortal man, but an Elf lord from the Isles of the West, and she loved him. The two of them went up to Cerin Amroth and were betrothed-and there Arwen gave up her immortality and thus appointed her doom.

Aragorn then left again, fighting against Sauron's forces in the battle for Middle-earth, and all the while Arwen waited for him against her father's will, hoping that he would return.

In March of TA 3019 upon hearing of the freedom of Middle-earth Arwen went to Gondor, where Aragorn was crowned King. They were reunited and then married on Midyear's Day of that same year, and the two of them lived in peace and joy from that moment forth.

But, in the year FA 120 King Ellessar (Aragorn) knew his end was near, so he passed his kingship to his only son, Eldarion and then died. The grieving Arwen said good-bye to Eldarion and her 3 daughter's, and wandered for a time alone and grieving for her beloved under the fading leaves of Lothlorien. In FA 121 Arwen Undmiel laid herself down on Cerin Amroth; and there her green grave lay until the changing of the world.
