If Tomorrow Never Comes Chapter 10 Ann sat back in the chair, her sobs filled the waiting room. She looked up, "Why? Why my nephew, why my husband, WHY?" she softly said. Her shoulders shook with every sob. After the tears diminished, she stood, wiping the tears from her eyes. She walked to the phone booth. Her hand shook, as she touched to phone. She leaned her head against the wall, letting the tears fall once again. "How in the world am I going to do this?" she said in a whisper. She shut her eyes tightly, praying. She gabbed the phone, bringing it to her ear. Her shacky hands slowly dialed the numbers. "Hello?" "Jackie?" Ann asked. "Yes, Ann?" Jackie said. "What's wrong?" Jackie asked. Ann took a deep breath, "Jackie, it's Brian"
Kevin watched as his father was being wheeled away, moaning in pain. His lower lip trembled, as tears fell from his eyes. He watched as they wheeled his father into a room across the hall. He slowly walked across the hall, stopping next to the room. He slid down to the ground, pulling his knees to his chest. Hearing his father's sobs of pain in the next room, made tears fall from Kevins eyes. He lowered his head, tears streaming down his small face. The sobbs that came from the other room, of the older man, suddenly stopped. Kevin lifted his head, his eyes wide with fear. Tears flooded his eyes. "D..daddy's dead?" |
