Jackie looked over to her husband, her hand meeting his, as she tighlty grasped the phone to her ear. Harold looked at his wife, with questioning eyes, feeling her grasp become tighter on his hand. Jackie mouthed the words, "Something happend to Brian," she said. His eyes went wide with fear. Jackie took a deep breath, shutting her eyes tightly. "What do you mean somethings wrong with Brian? What? He was fine when we left him two days ago," she said in one breath. "Jackie, Brian....well, he's in the hospital," Jackie heard Ann explain. Jackies eyes went wide, her grip on her husbands hand became tighter. "W...what?What happend? Is my baby ok?" She asked, tears falling from her eyes. She heard Ann take a deep breath. "Jackie, he's....he's not ok.....,"Ann said. Jackie let the tears stream down her face, not wiping them away. Her lower lip trembeled, "What do you mean he's not o...ok? What's wrong?"Jackie asked. "M...maybe you should just get to the hospital Jackie," Ann said softly,tears falling from her own eyes. Jackie shook her head frantically, "No..no...tell me what's wrong with my baby Ann, tell me," she said. She heard Ann sigh, "H...he was playing with Kevin out in the backyard, a..and Jerald and I heard Kevin scream, we found Brian passed out," Ann started, then she heard Jackie gasp. "We took him..i..inside and laid him down, a..and when he ...w...woke up he had a high fever...s...so we took him to, t..the doctor told me that it was Brian's heart," Ann said, sobbing over the phone. Jackie froze, gasping for air. Tears fell from her eyes endlessly. "W...w...what?" She asked. "B...Brian has a heart defect," Ann said. Jackie gasped, her eyes wide, "WHAT?" she screamed into the phone. "T...the doctor hasn't told me everything, he...he thought it would be best if you come, and he can explain everything," Ann softly said. Jackie nodded, "O..ok....we'll g..get the first flight d..down there," Jackie said. After they said their goodbyes, Jackie softly put the phone down. Harold looked at his wife with fear in his eyes. Jackie slumped back, sobbing in her hands. "B..baby, what's wrong with Brian?" Harold asked his wife. Jackie looked up at her husband., "B...Brian's...h..heart." Jackie sobbed. "H...he's...in...the hospital, t...the doctor...oh God Harold...oh God....he has a heart d..d...defect," Jackie sobbed. Harold's eyes went wide, tears falling. "Oh God," he whispered, as he grabbed Jackie, pulling her into his embrace. "M.....my...my..b....babyduck," she said, as they both clung on to eachother, and wept..
