| Week 9: The baby is now considered a fetus and no longer an embryo. The baby is approximately 2 inches long and weighs .35 ounces. The baby is starting to look more human. The face is rounded. The fingers and toes are now more formed. The retinas of the eyes now contain pigment. I had my first real doctor appointment today with the Ob. I had a vaginal ultrasound (see pictures). The baby is really in there. I could see it squirming around. It measured 4 days further then what was originally thought. The heartbeat was measured and the doctor said everything looked great. I now have to go for all my bloodwork before my next appointment. |
