Scout Ranks

1. Tenderfoot:
* Present to leader, properly dressed. Show right way to pack and go camping.
* Demonstrate whip and fuse end of rope.
* Demonstrate two half hitches, tautline.
* Rules of safe hiking; highway, cross walk, day, night.
* Raise and lower flag.
* Repeat Scout Motto, Slogan, Laws, Oath.
* Give patrol name, yell, explain flag.
* Explain use of buddy system.
* Record pushup, pull up, sit up, standing long jump, run/walk 500 yards. Show improve after 30 days.
* Demonstrate Heimlich maneuver and its used.
* Identify local poisonous plants and treatment.
* Treat simple cut and scratches, blister, burns, bites, stings, poisonoussnakebites, nosebleed.
* Participate in Scoutmaster conference.
* Board of review completed ______________________.

2. Second Class:
* Uses of compass and orient a map and explanation of map symbols.
* Using map to hike 5 mile.
* Participate in 5 separate patrol meeting. 2 include camping.
* On campout, demonstrate proper cared, sharpening, use of knife.
* Use tools to tinder, fuel for cooking fire.
* Cooking and cleanup.
* On campout, select camp site and sleep in tent you pitched.
* Participate in any flag ceremony.
* 1 hour community service.
* Identify 12 wild animals in community.
* Dealing with stopped breathing, serious bleeding, internal poisoning.
* First for object in eye, bite of rabid animal, puncture of wound from nail, fish hook, serious burn, heat exhaustion, shock.
* Tell precaution before safe swim. Ability to swim 50 yard with 2 strokes.
* Participate in any program of drugs, alcohol.
* Living the Scout Oath, and Scout Law.
* Participate in Scoutmaster conference.
* Board of review completed _______________________.

3. First Class:
* Demonstrate finding direction in day, night without compass.
* Using compass, complete orienteering course covering 1 mile, measuring of height/width of items.
* Participate in 10 separate patrol meeting. 3 including camping.
* On campout, doing the cooking, prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner and cleanup.
* Discuss constitutional right and obligation to citizen with any person.
* Identify 10 native plants in community.
* Show timber hitch, clover hitch, and uses in square, shear, and diagonal lashing joining poles.
* Use lashing for camp gadget.
* Demonstrate bowline and its used in rescues.
* Demonstrate bandage for injuries of head, arm, collarbone, sprained ankle.
* Show transport of self in smoke room, with broken leg for 25 yards.
* Tell 5 most common sign of heart attack. Explain step in CPR.
* Demonstrate ability to swim 100 yard using 1 resting stroke and 2 other strokes.
* Living the Scout Oath and Scout Laws.
* Participate in Scoutmaster conference.
* Board of review completed _________________________.

4. Star Rank:
* Active in troop for 4 months as First Class Scout.
* Living the Scout Oath and Scout Laws.
* Earn 6 merit badges.
* Do a 6 hours projects. Must be approved by Scoutmaster.
* Serve 4 months as patrol leader and above.
* Take part in Scoutmaster conference.
* Became Star Scout on __________ / _________ / __ BOR initial__

5. Life Rank:
* Active in troop for 6 months as Star Scout.
* Living Scout Oath and Scout Laws.
* Earn a total of 11 merit badges.
* Do a 6 hours projects. Must be approved by Scoutmaster.
* Serve 4 months as patrol leader and above.
* Take part in Scoutmaster conference.
* Became Life Scout on __________ / _________ / __ BOR initial__

6. Eagle Rank:
* Active in troop for 6 months as Star Scout.
* Living Scout Oath and Scout Laws.
* Earn a total of 21 merit badges. must include First Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nations, Citizenship in the World, Communication, Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, Personal Management, Personal Fitness/Swimming/Sport, Camping, and Family Life.
* Do a major project approved by Scoutmaster, troop committee, and council
* Serve 6 months as Assistant Senior Patrol leader and above.
* Take part in Scoutmaster conference.
* Became Eagle Scout on __________ / _________ / __ BOR initial_

7. Eagle Palms
* Active in troop for 3 months as Star Scout.
* Living Scout Oath and Scout Laws.
* Demonstrate leadership.
* Earn another 5 merit badges.
* Take part in Scoutmaster conference.
