Sacrament of Holy Eucharist

1. What is Holy Eucharist?
   - The Holy Eucharist is a sacraments, a sacrifice. Jesus is truly and completely present under the appearance of bread and wine, to make us more like himself and to join us to one another.

2. Why did Jesus gave us the Holy Eucharist?
   - Jesus gave us the Holy Eucharist because he want to stay closer to his followers until the end of time to teach us, comfort us, strength and make us holy.

3. How is Eucharist different from all the other sacraments?
   - The Eucharist is different from all the other sacraments because under the appearance of bread and wine, Jesus is completely present as both God and man. In the other sacraments, he is present only by his power and its effect.

4. What is the matter of the Holy Eucharist?
   - Bread and wine (water)

5. What is the form of the Holy Eucharist?
   - The words of consecration: "This is my body which will be given up for you"......"This is the cup of my blood....It will be shed for you...."

6. When did Jesus institute the Holy Eucharist?
   - At the last supper before he died.

7. How did Jesus institute the Holy Eucharist?
   - Jesus took bread, blessed, broke it and gave to his disciples. "Take it and eat it...this is my body". Then he took a cup and said, "This is my blood". (Mt. 26:26-28)

8. When does the bread and wine become the body and the blood of Jesus Christ?
   - During the mass, when the priest pronounces the word of consecration: "This is my Body..This is my Blood".

9. Does anything remain of the bread and wine after the words of consecration have been spoken?
   - Only the appearance of the bread and wine remain: that is, they look, taste, smell, etc.. remain, although the bread and wine themselves have been changed into Christ's body and blood.
