Catholic Church

1. Jesus Christ found the church to bring all people to eternal salvation.

2. The Church
   - is the congregation of all baptized persons united in the same truth, faith, pray together and receive the same sacraments, under the authority of the Sovereign Pontiff (Pope) and the Bishops in communion with him.

3. How did Jesus establish the Church?
   - He began to preach about the kingdom of God and gather all people who believe in Him, chose the 12 apostles and Peter as the Head of the Church, replacing Jesus on earth.

4. The Church is enabled to lead people to salvation by indwelling of the Holy Ghost, who gives it life.

5. What power did Jesus give to the apostles?
   - To teach, to sanctify and to rule

6. What are the roles of the Church?
   a. All people in the world: People who already received Baptism and obey and live under the rule of the Pope and the Church.
   b. Priest: A person who ordained by the Bishop and the chief priest of a parish
   c. Bishop: A person who are next to the apostles, lead and teach the Catholic of their dioceses.
   d. Pope: He takes place of Saint Peter to teach and guide the Catholic Church. He is the chief leader of the Church. "..You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church."

7. What is the Pope's role in the Church?
   - The Pope is so important to the Church because he is the chief teacher and leader. He is Christ's vicar. The Catholic Church will always have a Pope because this is what Jesus wanted.

8. What is Infallibility?
   - The Church teaches infallibility when if defines through the Pope alone, as a teacher of all Christains or through the Pope and the Bishops untied with him, a doctrine of faith or moral to be held by all the faithful.

9. There are 4 Chief Marks of the Church
   a. One: One in doctrine (truths of Faith and moral code) in worship, and in goverment. All Catholics are united through their Bishops to the Pope. (There is one Body, one Spirit, just as you were all called into one and the same hope when you were called. There is one Lord, one faith, one Baptism..." (Eph 4:4-5)
   b. Holy: Because her Founder and His doctrine are holy, because here Source of supernatural life, the Holy Spirit, is holy, and because her sacraments give grace which makers people holy.
   c. Catholic: (Universal) Because it is meant for all people of all places.
   d. Apostolic: Because it can be traced back to its foundatioin to the apostles.

10. What is meant by calling the Catholic Church Christ's Mystical Body?
   - We mean the real union of members of the Church (living and deceased) with Jesus and one another, through the grace-giving activity of the Holy Spirity.

11. People can be saved if through no fault of their own, they do not know our savior Jesus Christ and His Church, but they do seek God sincerely and try to live good lives with His help.
