Teaching Philosophy

I believe in order to learn you must first be intrigued
and that the only subject learned was the one viewd most intersting.  I believe that every child can be taught.
That a child not intrinsically motivated simpy has not been exposed to an interesting enough topic.  Students are naturally curious: it's human nature to question "Why?"  It is for me as a teacher to present a platform for which my students feel safe and comfortable to always quench their thrist for knowledge.
I long for the opportunity to create this environment where my students, although different in numerous ways,
will be motivated to learn.
I believe that effective teaching is unique for each
student and that an effective teacher will understand that the same techniques and styles will not suit
the needs of all students.  It is my obligation to be knowledgeable of several teaching styles and techniques and be willing to
fluxuate between them.
I wish to never confom to a "cookie-cutter" mentality
and forget that every child is an individual who learns, thinks,
and responds in different manners.  I wish to remain a
person not afraid of change, one capable of understanding the difference between structure and a routine and becoming too predictable or stringent that class is no longer fun and enjoyable.  It is my goal to present an atomoshpere that is so well balanced between these components that learning occurs
with minimal efforts.  I wish to embrace the differences
I am sure to find in my classroom.  By being able to incorporate knowledge of their interests and likes into our daily
lessons.  It is my goal  to always be aware of the
whole student and not simply acknowledge their
differences but teach the class as a whole to embrace
one another's uniqueness.
I do not simply wish to become an effective teacher.
Instead, I vow to completely embrace the journey of becoming an effective teacher.
