Physical Class
Description
Ziggurat Seating
I would like a classroom where my students feel
comfortable to move around. The round
table in the center of the room would be used for demonstrations or a place
where needed supplies for an assignment may be placed for pick-up. Mostly, this arrangement will allow the
students a choice of movement during lectures (note taking) to feel more at
ease.
Teacher’s
Desk
It is located in the rear of the classroom, in a
back corner. It is near the entrance,
hoping that any visitors can be prevented from distraction class work
time.
Lounge
Area
This is the in-class library filled with trade
books and small novels, lamp lighting, bean bags and floor throw pillows. It is an area where students can go to
read. However, I do not wish for this
area to be viewed as a reward for only the students that have completed their
work and are looking for free/fun time. The
lounge will also be used as alternate choice for completing class work.
This area is the center of the classroom where
the business of preparing for class starts and were
the conclusion of class ends. All
written transactions between the student/parents/teacher circulates
through. Pencils sharpened and work turned-in
in this area. The computers located in
the rear of the class allows for an isolated individual time. I believe with fewer interruptions students
will be able to work faster and increase the number of students able to use the
area.
Bulletin Boards
Near Entrance: The
month-at-a-glance calendar were projects and assignments are posted with due
dates.
