I wanted to portray the beauty of individual beads in a delectable palatte of colors that would stimulate not just the eyes, but all the senses. As lucious as a bowl of tropical fruits, one can just almost taste and smell the exotic flavors.

The uniqueness of each bead helps determine it's neighbor as I allow the individual bead's color to guide me in selecting the color schemes surrounding it.

Mined or man-made each bead has it's own tale. The diversity of natural stones is almost limitless as Mother Nature has taken eons to create the gemstone material and man has had to hunt, mine and harvest it. Even glass beads have diversity in their colors and shapes. Each batch created is different from the previous. Some are hundreds of years old having been traded for food, drygoods, services and more, they behold many tales untold.

Freshwater pearls offer a variety of colors and shapes as a result in the diverse environment the animals experience. The nacre of a pearl glows from the multiple layers built over the sand/rock that penetrated the oyster's flesh. In attempt to rid the discomfort of this invading object it has created a gem of irridescent beauty. Behold the pearl. Alas, a reminder that we should take precautions to save our water sources from pollution. More of my collection:
