What is NetMeet System?

NetMeet! is a independent chat system which doesn't need any internet connection necessary. It works on a closed network if it's servers correctly installed. It has some new capabilities that you can't find in other messengers. In NetMeet! you can see your friend's "Friend list" in his/her profile! something like orkut. you can change or remove your sent offlines in "Offline Manager".

Its servers are very flexible on network traffic. "Room Servers" are designed to be more than one. So if there are lots of rooms you can add more "Room Servers".

Also the "Main Server" has this feature, but I'm sorry to say that I didn't test it yet. I'm working on it!

How does it start?

When I was educating in high school I was intrested in "Network programming", so I started to study about TCP/IP. In high school I loved VB so I tried to learn how can I use TCP/IP in VB. Thanks to "sockets" it was so easy to start network programming in VB. So I programmed a very simple IP 2 IP chat program. It was very simple. In my 3rd semester of university I learned lots of things thanks to Software Engineering course which I had with "Dr. Isazadeh". I appreciate him too much, because he caused my thinking style get powered.

It was very awful to enter IP for chatting. so I decided to write a program to handle these IPs. I started to design a server at the end of summer of 2004. I finished the "Main Server". The next idea was adding rooms to it. after all I designed some more servers to reduce the network traffic for more clients.
