Benji got into the expedition and slammed the door. Sara reached up and turned down the radio as Joel speed out of the neighborhood.
�What happened?� Sara asked as she sat back in her seat.
Benji closed his eyes and ignored the question.
�You realize she�ll keep asking until you tell her,� Joel pointed out to Benji.
He still said nothing.
�He met some girl behind Identity last week, and lied to her about�� Joel began informing Sara when Benji cut him off.
�I didn�t like, I just didn�t tell her the complete truth!�
�So your gonna speak now?� Sara leaned forward and looked at Benji.
When Benji didn�t speak again Joel continued.
�Anyways, long story short she called him out about being Benji, he lied because he likes her. She believed that he isn�t Benji. But the twisted part is he only likes her cause she remind him of Christina Aguilera. Same hair�same build.�
�God damn it Joel, I didn�t lie to her and I don�t like her cause she looks like Christina.� Benji yelled at his brother.
�Then why did you�lie�I mean not tell her the complete truth?� Sara asked in a calming tone.
�I don�t know.�
�Okay, so then what happened tonight that pissed you off so much?�
Benji took a deep breath and then explained.
�I was about to kiss her when Joel called and then after I hung up with him we were about to kiss again when her friend Laura called. When she got off the phone we went out back to sit by the pool. While we were kissing she called me Benji and said some lame ass shit about not being a money hungry groupie.�
�Her friend�s name is Laura?� Sara asked with a guilty look on her face.
Benji shook his head. �Why?�
�I hung out with a girl named Laura at the club tonight. I�ve seen her at a couple of Brakish shows. We got to talking about last weeks show and she mentioned that her friend Brynn had met some guy that looked like Benji Madden. I told her that I was your sister and that you were at the show. She didn�t believe me though, until Joel came and picked me up.�
Benji turned around and looked at his sister. He looked even more angry than when he had gotten in the car.
�What the fuck Sara. Is there something you don�t understand about not telling people we�re here?�
A look of shock came over Sara�s face. Benji had never yelled at her before, at least never in an angry tone, and she would be damned if he would start now.
�First of all you didn�t tell me not to tell anyone you were here you just said don�t broadcast it, second I figured that Laura�s friend already knew who you were and third don�t get shitty with me because you screwed things up with a girl. And damnit Benj you did lie to her.� She yelled back at him.
Benji was speechless. Sara was right. He had screwed things up. Why had he run out on Brynn, and made a big deal out of nothing. Why didn�t he just tell her the complete truth.
�You barely know the girl, Benj. I don�t see why your getting yourself worked up over any of it.� Joel informed him.
Benji scowled at his brother, but Joel was too preoccupied with driving to notice.
�Don�t worry Benji, we�ll make things right with her.� Sara whispered to him.
