THE SCHOOLS

Now, I Wont Tell You About My School Days..... They Were Awful..... However, There Was One Positive Thing Which Came From Those Days Which I Do Wish To Mention, In My Fourth Year Of Secondary School, I Played Many Instruments Including "Violin", "Guitar", "Piano", And Of Course "Keyboards"..... However, The Only Instrument Which Really Stood Out In My Secondary Year, Was The "TRUMPET".....

Yep, For Three Years, I Played The Trumpet Once A Week In A Little Brass Band, AND, In My 2nd Year, I Achieved My Very FIRST Musical Award..... My "ABRSM TRUMPET: GRADE 1" Certificate.....

I Was Only The Second Person In My School To Have Achieved This Honor..... The First One Wasn't Very Happy Of Having To Share Their "Glory" With Me, But Thankfully, We Put That Aside, And We Got On Well.....

Now, I Can't Write About My Secondary School, Without Making Reference To The One Person Within That Confinement Who Stood By Me Through It All..... A Good Friend, And Another Talented Musician, IMRAN DAR.....

This Guy Wasn't Present For The First Year Of 2ndary School, But He Made A Huge Impact On My Life Nevertheless..... Whenever Everyone Else Would Try To Put Me Down, He Was Always There For Me, And We Were Indeed The Best Of Friends..... Like Me, Whenever He Had Some Free Time, He Liked To Grab Hold Of One Of The Many Instruments And Play Some New Tunes.....

THE YEARS OF COLLEGE

And Now.......... With 2ndary School Out Of The Way I Had Two Choices, Lounge About In The House Doing Absolutely Nothing, OR, I Could Put My Musical Talents To Good Use And Enrol On A Music Course At A College....... Hmmmm, Which Should I Choose?

Naturally, I Went With The "College" Option..... I Felt This Would Be A Fine Chance To Test Out MY Music Skills In The Music Industry, And Plus, I Could Learn Some New Things As Well.....

And I Swear On My Life, Walking Into That Room With All The Past Problems Still Lurking On My Back, Was VERY Difficult.....

But, And This Was A Total Surprise To Me, Everyone Was Really Nice..... I Will State Myself From My Own Experience, Don't Judge People On Appearance Alone..... Most Of Them Had Leather Jackets, Ear-Rings, Nose Studs..... But Strangely Enough, I Got On Well With MANY Of Them.....

I Remember That Whichever Band I Was In, We Always Got On, Even When We Had Problems Rehearsing, We Were Still Good Friends.....

I Remember The First Year Of College VERY Well, It Was The Very Same Year That "Blue (Dab Ba Dee)" Was First Released Onto English Radios..... After I Heard The Song, It Changed My Style Of Music From That Point On..... This First Year Of College, Also Marked The First Appearance Of "David Hurt" As A Solo Artist, As I Participated In My First Karaoke Night..... I Can Remember Everything About That Night..... The Name Of The DJ (Gazza), The Name Of The Song I Sang (GIrls On Film - Duran Duran), EVERYTHING..... Well, Except The Exact Date.....

Anyway, The First Band I Was In At College Was Called "Lazarus"..... We Played A Couple Of Live Gigs Before We Broke Up For The End Of The Course.....

After That Course Had Ended, I Decided To Enrol On Another, Harder, Longer Music Course..... THIS One Lasted A Full Two Years.....

Whilst On This College Course, I Hooked Up With My Second Ever Band, They Was Called "Azure" (Which Is Apparently A Certain Kind Of "Blue" Colour)..... We Played A Whole Week Of Gigs Which Included Primary & Secondary Schools As Well..... This Was The First And Only Band I Performed With In Which I Actually Got To Perform An Eiffel 65 Song..... At The Time, There Was Only ONE Eiffel 65 Song Which Was Storming The Radio Airwaves..... "Blue (Dab Ba Dee)".....

.....
Again, Once The College Year Had Ended, The Band Split Up .....

However, Once The Second Year Of This Course Had Started, I Found Myself Placed Into Another Band..... We Took Three Monthes To Choose A Name For Ourselves, And Eventually, We Chose "C60K"
