Dimensions of Destiny

Prologue

Jinix government center holding cells

Makkor rubbed his jaw gingerly, as it still was tender from the blow he received from the female Jedi. He scowled to himself, angry that she had surprised him. However, he had not expected her to survive being tossed over the side of the building. He rose to his feet, walking over to the criss-crossed beams.

Peering carefully through them, he saw guards milling around nearby, but not directly in front of his cell. Makkor suddenly remembered that the male Jedi had captured Jalerin.

Jalerin? Makkor called out.

So, Makkor...they caught you as well, eh? Jalerins voice was laced with sarcasm.

Makkor merely growled.

I take it that the others escaped.

Cluna and Narset did not make it, Makkor replied.

Jalerin uttered a few Exoian curses. That leaves Dalosi and Riaden.

I am afraid not, another male voice interjected.

Who is that? Makkor demanded. And how do you know?

Myrek, the new voice replied. I saw them fall.

This time Makkor cursed in Exoian.

But what of Drayce and Jeyzen? You were the last one with them. Myrek questioned.

They went their own way, when the female Jedi stormed the second dwelling we were in. What happened to them, I do not know, Makkor replied nonchalantly, then under his breath, muttered: Nor do I truly care.

Listening to the conversation, Durriken merely smiled to himself. He knew that Drayce would formulate a plan to free him and Myrek. It would only be a matter of time. He would wait patiently.

Chapter One

Part One

Krysira's quarters

Trip and Krysira finally, though reluctantly, withdrew from each other. He gently touched her cheek with his large fingers, gazing into her expressive silvery/blue eyes.

Well...I best go tell Capn Archer that I volunteered Enterprise to take you back to Coruscant, Trip finally said softly. You want to come along, sweetheart?

Krysira shook her head. No, thank-you. I find that I need to meditate for a while, my love, she replied.

Trip nodded, leaning down to kiss her lips softly. Ill be back in a bit.

Krysira nodded, returning the kiss, then went over to the bed. Trip watched as she assumed her meditative position, then sighing wistfully, left the room.

Part Two

Guest chambers

After coming out of his bedroom, Archer stretched, before sitting down on the couch that faced the window. He didnt see Hoshi, so he figured that she was still resting.

Archer had decided after the meeting to go back to Enterprise, taking Hoshi, Malcolm and Trip with him, then return for the memorial service tomorrow. But Ryvinia had convinced him to partake in Exoian hospitality for one more day. Somehow, he just couldnt refuse her request.

A great deal had happened since coming through the gateway. He wondered if a deal couldnt be struck with the Exoians concerning the Dilithium...better known as Kraygoryte here. However, Archer knew that he would have to report all of this to Starfleet. He wondered how much Admiral Forrest would believe without actual proof. He sighed, as he mulled over this situation.

The door chime interrupted his thoughts.

Come! He called. Looking over his shoulder, Archer saw his chief engineer enter. Have a seat, Trip, he offered.

Thanks, Capn, Trip replied, sitting on a chair to Archers right, as he rubbed his hands together, a bit nervously.

Archer studied Trip, then blinked, realizing something. Wheres Krysira? He questioned.

Oh...shes in her quarters meditating, Trip replied. Jedi do that a lot.

I see. I thought that something might have happened, seeing that you two are hardly ever apart from each other.

Trip felt his cheeks grow warm, as he let out a nervous laugh. No. No. Everythings just fine between us. He swallowed, gathering his thoughts. But...um...something did come up.

Archer looked at him curiously. Oh?

Yeah...um, one of Krysira's...superiors contacted her. Seems that she has to return to Coruscant.

Coruscant?

Thats where their temple is located.

Just like us reporting back to Starfleet headquarters, I suppose.

Trip nodded. Pretty much. He took in a deep breath, letting it out slowly. I, uh, kinda volunteered Enterprise to take Krysira back to Coruscant.

Archer stared at Trip. You...did...what?

I figured that since we have to take the Rybrillians home, we can take Krysira to Coruscant on the return trip. Besides, we have to come back in this direction for the gateway."

The captain rose to his feet, walking across the room, then turned to Trip, his expression stern. You...volunteered Enterprise without my permission? His voice was a bit louder, if not a bit miffed.

Trip leapt to his feet. It was a snap decision, Capn! I didnt have the time to come and ask permission! I didnt think that youd mind! He raised his voice to make his point.

Hoshi came out of her bedroom, after hearing the arguing. She looked at her two superior officers curiously, standing a few feet away from Archer. However, neither man noticed her, for they were too busy glaring at each other.

Trip, you had no right to do that without consulting with me first! I dont care if it was a snap decision! You dont have the authority for that decision! Youre not in charge! Anger filled Archers voice at the apparent insubordination from his third in command.

Why are you being so difficult! Trip shouted, angrily, throwing his hands up in the air, not immediately aware of a surge of energy flowing through his body.

A big vase that was on a table in the middle of the room between the two men suddenly went flying across the room, in-between Archer and Hoshi. It smashed against a wall, falling to the floor in pieces.

Trips blue eyes widened, seeing what just happened. He was horrified, as he backed away, pressing his back against the wall. He only had one thought: /Help me, Krys!/ There was anguish in his plea.

Unnerved by what had taken place, Hoshi headed towards the main door of the chambers, stating: Im not dealing with this! She left, almost on a run.

However, Archer merely stared at Trip in shock, seeing the horrified expression on the younger mans face.

In her quarters, Krysira was in deep meditation when she felt that someone had used the Force. Initially, she thought it was Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan. But that thought was quickly squashed when a mental thought found its way to her.

/Help me, Krys!/ It was Trips voice, calling out desperately for help.

Fearing the worst, the female Jedi came out of her meditative state and was instantly on her feet. Not knowing exactly what the situation was, Krysira raised her hand and one of her lightsabres flew towards her, as she hurried towards the door. Catching it in one hand, Krysira waved her free hand towards the door, which opened at her gesture. She allowed the Force to lead her in Trips direction.

Hoshi was walking hurriedly away from the guest quarters. What she had seen definitely freaked her out. She wondered what made that vase rise up and smash into the wall. But then she realized that she really didnt want to know.

As she hurried along to put as much distance between the guest chambers and herself, Hoshi heard running footsteps coming towards her.

She suddenly saw Krysira come around the corner just ahead of her on a dead run.

Krysira? Hoshi questioned.

However, the female Jedi merely raced passed her. Hoshi realized that Krysira was focused on something else, being that she never acknowledged her.

Hoshi watched Krysira disappear around a far corner, then continued on in the direction that she was headed.

Archer shook his head, coming out of the mild shock at what Trip had done. He started towards Trip.

Easy, Trip, Archer soothed, holding his hands out a little in front of him.

However, Trip backed away a bit more, keeping his distance from Archer. He was afraid that what happened earlier would happen again.

Archer stopped his approach. Trip...tell me what just happened, he questioned in a softer tone than he had been using.

Trip shivered slightly. It was the Force, he blurted out, his chest heaving.

Archer frowned. What force?

At the sound of the door sliding open, Archer turned to see Krysira burst in.

Qui-Gon raised his head, as he felt a slight tremor in the Force. He opened his eyes to see Obi-Wan come out of his room.

Master? Obi-Wan questioned.

You felt that as well, Padawan, Qui-Gon stated.

Yes, but it did not feel that it came from Knight Krysira. The youth focused inward for a few moments, then looked at his master in a surprised fashion. It ...came from...Commander Tucker? Should we not help him? His hazel eyes were wide.

Qui-Gon said nothing at first. He then looked up at his apprentice. No...Krysira will handle this.

Yes, Master. The teenaged Jedi trusted his masters wisdom.

Without breaking stride, Krysira leapt over the couch and landed next to Trip. She stuck her lightsabre inside her sash, as her free hand rested on the bare part of Trips heaving chest. She allowed the Force to flow from her into Trip, calming the young chief engineer.

Trip felt the calming powers of the Force and allowed it to flow through him. He laid his hand on top of Krysiras hand, holding it. He smiled, relieved that she had heard him and was here helping him.

Archer blinked surprised that Krysira entered the chambers like that. Huh? was all that he could say.

Krysira looked over at Archer. Please forgive the intrusion, Captain. It was very ill-mannered of me, she replied. However, Trip was in urgent need of my help.

Archer knew that Krysira was the epitome of politeness from what he had seen before and realized that she wouldnt act otherwise, unless necessary. Then, her last statement caught his attention. Not a problem, Krysira. But...how did you know that Trip needed help?

Trip and Krysira exchanged a look.

Krysira looked back at Archer. Perhaps an explanation is in order, Captain, she suggested.

Part Three

Corridor

Hoshi continued to walk briskly down the corridor that occasionally turned in one direction then the other. As she turned a corner, she practically mowed down Malcolm and Ryvinia.

Malcolm caught Hoshi by her shoulders, steadying her. He saw that the attractive ensign was preoccupied. Easy, Ensign, Malcolm said, releasing her.

Hoshi blinked then blushed. Im sorry, Lieutenant...Counselor, she replied. I was just deep in thought. She peered at them. Where are you two headed?

To see Captain Archer, Malcolm told her.

Hoshi frowned remembering what had just taken place only minutes before. I dont think thats a good idea.

Malcolm and Ryvinia exchanged a look. It was Malcolms turn to frown.

Why not? The British tactical officer inquired.

Hoshi shrugged. I dont know...exactly. She had a puzzled expression on her face. But there seems to be a...problem...

What problem? Malcolm interrupted. Is the Captain alright? His security mode kicked in.

Captain Archer is fine. She saw Malcolm look relieved. Its...Commander Tucker.

Whats wrong with him?

Should we summon the healers for Commander Tucker? Ryvinia offered, concern etched on her delicate features.

Hoshi thought for a moment or two, as a look of realization crossed her face. No...I think Krysira was heading in that direction.

Oh? Malcolm queried.

Yes...she was heading in that direction in a dead run. She passed me, but never acknowledged me. She seemed, well, focused on something.

Or...someone, Malcolm offered, folding his arms across his chest. I wonder whats going on? He mused, worriedly.

Im sure that well find out sooner or later...but lets leave them alone for now. Then to herself. I really dont want to know what happened.

Very well, Ryvinia said. Let us go to the recreation area. Perhaps we can speak with Captain Archer later.

Malcolm grinned at Ryvinia. Sounds good to me, he agreed, seeing the Exoian counselor smile sweetly at him.

Hoshi gazed at them, thinking that they did make a nice couple.

The trio headed towards the recreation/dining area.

Part Four

Recreation/dining area

Lonan and Sedona took turns explaining all the events that had happened for the past few days, including the recent meeting. Becan and Pedzi were quiet for most of the explanation of events, save for an occasional exclamation.

Pedzi shook her head. This is all quite...incredible, Lonan, she said a bit skeptically. Do you not think so, Becan?

Well...the part regarding Drayce knowing about the Rybrillians...is true. I informed him about the discovery of Rybrill, Becan admitted. But...Jedi, a gateway and a ship from another universe...I still find hard to believe.

Lonan sighed, heavily. He had hoped that his parents would believe him, being that Sedona was backing him up. But that didnt seem to be happening.

Seeing Lonans disappointment, Sedona reached for his hand under the table and squeezed it. Lonan looked at Sedona, giving her a bittersweet smile.

At that moment, Malcolm, Ryvinia and Hoshi entered the area.

Sedonas face brightened. Aunt Ryvinia! She called out.

Ryvinia sighed softly, but made her way over to the table with Malcolm and Hoshi, joining Sedona, Lonan and his parents. Introductions were made.

Counselor Ryvinia, Becan began. It has been a while.

Yes, Becan. It has been, Ryvinia replied. I look forward to your latest report. She glanced at Lonan, then back at the youths parents. I trust that you have heard about the events that have taken place recently.

Yes, Pedzi replied. Quite the story.

It is all true, I assure you. Lonan was very helpful these past few days and he and Sedona shall be commended for their assistance. Ryvinia smiled.

Pedzi and Becan looked at each other, then at Lonan. They suddenly saw their son in a whole new light. Both Lonan and Sedona blushed under the praise.

In regards to the Rybrillians, I would like to offer my assistance, Becan said.

Certainly, Ryvinia replied. I will get you in touch with Trey and Captain Archer tomorrow after the memorial service for our fallen companions.

Becan nodded. Thank-you, Counselor.

Ryvinia merely smiled, as one Exoian woman brought over a large platter of food, while a second Exoian woman brought over beverages.

While eating, Becan reached over and gently grasped Lonans shoulder. His son looked at him curiously.

Your mother and I would like to apologize to you and Sedona for not believing what you two told us, Becan said softly. It appears that you have matured since I last saw you, son.

Lonan blushed a bit. I have learned a great deal from being friends with Obi-Wan Kenobi, he told them.

We can see that...now, Pedzi told him, smiling brightly at her son.

Lonan was grinning from ear to ear, happy that his parents now believed him. He vowed at that point never again to tell a story to impress people.

Part Five

Guest Chambers

Krysira guided Trip over to a smaller couch, watching him sink down on to it. She seated herself next to him.

Archer reseated himself on the larger couch, resting his forearms on his thighs, fingers interlaced. His gaze rested on Trip.

Trip grasped one of Krysira's hands, as he rested his chin on the fist of his free hand. He gazed out the nearby window to avoid Archers gaze.

Archer sighed, then rested his attention of Krysira. You said an explanation was in order, Krysira, he said.

Krysira set her gaze on Archer. Yes, Captain, she replied.

Trip mentioned...the Force.

The Force is an energy field that connects all living things together. Those who show an extremely strong connection to the Force are chosen and trained as Jedi at a very early age. Jedi can use the power of the Force to assist in knowledge, wisdom, healing or as a last resort to fight. A Jedi can also manipulate it like this... Krysira spotted a small figurine on a bureau across the room. She waved her hand slightly and the item flew across the room straight into Krysiras hand. She then placed it on the table in front of her.

Archer stared at Krysira for a few long moments then rubbed his chin. So...is Trip able to use...this Force?

Yes...he is what we call Force-sensitive. She finally saw the broken vase. He still needs guidance to control it. She glanced at Trip who looked at her a bit sheepishly. She gently squeezed his hand in comfort.

Archer saw where she was looking and nodded. And thats how you knew that he needed help?

Jedi and other Force-sensitive beings who are either very close friends or Master and Apprentice have a bond between them and are able to communicate over that bond.

The captain thought for a few moments. So...thats how its done, he said mostly to himself.

I hope that this brief explanation helps, Captain.

For the most part, Krysira. Thank-you.

Krysira nodded in response.

Trip finally spoke: Can we still take Krysira to Coruscant, Capn? His voice was soft hesitant and a bit tired.

Archer looked at his chief engineer. Do I have a choice, Trip? He wanted to know, still a bit miffed about Trips decision.

I do not wish to further burden you, Captain, Krysira said, sincerely.

Jonathan Archers expression softened. Youre no burden, Krysira. You are welcome aboard Enterprise, he said truthfully, seeing a relieved and appreciative expression on Trips face.

Krysira smiled in her gentle manner. Thank-you for your kindness, Captain.

Archer felt a genuine smile spread across his face.

Part Six

Krysira's quarters

Trip sunk down on the couch: elbows on thighs head in hands. Krysira seated herself next to him, laying a slender hand gently on his back.

I couldve seriously injured someone! Trip exclaimed horrified.

Trip...perhaps it would be best if you started from the beginning, Krysira suggested gently, removing her hand.

Trip raised his head, looking at Krysira. He sighed heavily. Youre right, Krys. He leaned back against the couch. Well...I was talking to the captain about volunteering Enterprise to take you back to Coruscant after we take the Rybrillians home. He saw Krysira nod. He wasnt real pleased about me doing that, even though I told him that it was a snap decision and didnt have time to go and ask him. Trip sighed. Anyway, one thing led to another and we both got upset and I finally asked him why he was being so difficult and threw my hands up in disgust. Thats when the vase flew across the room, smashing into the wall near the captain. I realized then that I had felt a small surge go through my body. He paused for a moment. I couldve hurt someone!

Krysira made a note to herself that Trip didnt mention anyone by name. She that saw the slight fear in Trips blue eyes and gently laid her hand on his cheek. Calm, my love, she began softly. You made no conscious effort to hurt anyone. It was an accident. You were merely trying to make your point, which could have been handled differently. She saw Trip nod, resigned. As I have said, Trip, your anxiety and high emotions allow you to unconsciously tap into the Force. She stroked his cheek tenderly. We still need to work on keeping your emotions and anxiety on a level that you will be able to control.

Trip saw a sudden flash of something pass over Krysira's lovely features. Sweetheart? He asked worriedly.

This incident could have been avoided if I had accompanied you, as you requested.

He clutched her hand that was against his cheek. No! Dont you dare feel guilty! You couldntve known! Hell, I didnt even know! I thought that Capn Archer would be more, I dont know...understanding? H H

She regarded him gently. But, Trip, it is his ship.

I know, Trip growled, sourly, understanding his mistake. He pulled Krysira into his arms. Its just that I didnt want to leave you behind...to let you face the other Jedi...alone.

Krysira laid her hands on the bare part of his lightly hair-covered chest, her cheeks pink. She softly kissed his lips. Thank-you, my love, was all she could really say in response.

Trip gave her that characteristic disarming grin of his.

Krysira frowned ever so slightly. Trip...was there anyone else in the room when this happened?

He thought for a few moments. His eyes widened. Hoshi was there. She ran out, after the vase hit the wall. That probably scared her.

Krysira nodded. And I passed by her on my way here without acknowledging her. It would be wise to speak with her as soon as possible about this.

Lets go, then!

No, my love. You should rest. It will help calm you.

Trip pursued his lips as he considered her words. Well...I am a bit tired. He sighed. I guess youre right. He tightened his embrace. Tell Hoshi...that Im sorry, when you talk to her. He saw Krysira nod, then kissed her lips warmly with evident passion.

Sleep well, my love.

Trip nodded and released Krysira. He walked over to the bed and after taking off his boots, lay down on the bed. He looked over at Krysira who was gazing at him. I love you so much, sweetheart, he said in a tired voice. Ill get the hang of this Force stuff yet...wont I?

I have confidence that you will, Trip.

He smiled sleepily at her, as his eyes slowly closed.

Krysira waited until, Trip fell asleep, then left her quarters.

Archer leaned back on the couch. He slipped his hands behind his head, as he stared out the window.

What am I going to do about Trip? Archer said softly aloud to himself. Ive known him for a few years and I never would even suspect that Trip had something called the...Force. He chuckled weakly. I bet Trip didnt suspect it either. His expression sobered. I wonder how this will affect Trips performance as chief engineer. He paused for a long minute, thinking. I think I need to talk to Krysira privately.

Archer stood and walked across the room and left the chambers.

Krysira retraced her steps to where she had briefly encountered Hoshi earlier. She placed her hands on her hips, as she studied the area, trying to recall in which direction that Hoshi had been headed in earlier.

As she stood contemplating, Krysira heard footsteps coming in the direction opposite from which she had come in. Krysira looked around to see Archer coming towards her.

Krysira! I was just on my way to see you, Archer said. Wheres Trip?

He is asleep, Krysira replied, then curiously. Is there a problem, Captain?

I was hoping to talk to you about Trip.

Krysira saw the deep concern in Archers brown eyes regarding Trip. She waited for Archer to continue.

This...Force...will it affect Trips performance of his duties? I mean, I saw what he did with the vase. Is that something that will hinder him? Archer asked, oddly feeling awkward in his questioning. He scowled in frustration. Are you...understanding what Im trying to ask, Krysira?

Yes, Captain, Krysira replied. I do understand. The Force will not hinder Trips performance of his duties, unless it goes unchecked. Whenever Trip experiences anxiety or is highly emotional, he unconsciously taps into the Force.

Like with the vase?

Yes. I will try to help him control his emotions and teach him ways on how to control the Force himself by the time we reach Coruscant. And when properly controlled, the Force can assist, as I explained earlier.

So...its a good thing, then?

Krysira smiled. I would tend to think so, Captain.

Archer saw the twinkle in Krysira's silvery/blue eyes. His tense body posture relaxed and smiled at Krysira. I guess you would, he chuckled. I guess its something that we all have to deal with, especially Trip. He saw Krysira nod. Should we keep this from the rest of the crew?

I believe that it would be best that your crew be informed, lest they witness the Force in action from Trip or myself and panic. I will explain it to them, if you approve. She saw Archer nod. Speaking of which, it is imperative that I find Ensign Sato.

Archer studied Krysira for a few moments, then the light of realization filled his eyes. Hoshi witnessed what Trip did and ran out of the room, he told her.

Yes. I need to explain to her what she witnessed. She is most likely agitated from the experience. Do you know where she is?

Archer folded his arms across his chest. Not offhand, but why dont we head back to the guest room and I can contact her from there.

That would be most appreciated, Captain.

Krysira and Archer headed back in the direction that Archer had just come from.

Hoshi sipped her cool drink, listening to the others chat. She was starting to feel a bit left out and wondered what she could say to excuse herself.

At that moment, one of the Exoian pages, Roxx, entered the area. Hoshi spotted him, having an idea.

She rose to her feet. If you will excuse me, I just thought of something that I need to take care of, Hoshi told the group.

Malcolm looked at his crewmate. Is everything okay, Hoshi? He questioned concerned.

Hoshi gave him a small weak smile. Yes, Lieutenant.

The British tactical officer wasnt entirely convinced, but said nothing.

Do you require assistance, Ensign Sato? Ryvinia questioned.

Ill ask Roxx, if thats all right with you.

Ryvinia nodded. Certainly. Have Roxx contact me if you require any further assistance.

I will. Thank-you. Hoshi walked over to Roxx. Excuse me.

Can I assist you, Ensign Sato? Roxx questioned.

Yes. There was a little accident in the guest room and unfortunately a vase broke. I was hoping to have it cleaned up as soon as possible.

Of course. Please come with me.

Roxx led Hoshi out of the area.

Malcolm still watched Hoshi, curious to know if she was still bothered by something that happened earlier. And if so, he wondered what it was. All he knew, from what Hoshi had told him earlier, was that it involved Commander Tucker. But what it was, was still a mystery to him.... that he intended to solve.

In about a third of the time that it took her to get to the recreation/dining area, Hoshi found herself back in the guest quarters.

That took no time at all! Hoshi exclaimed.

Roxx allowed a small grin to appear on his face. Sometimes in our duties, it is necessary for us to respond as quickly as possible. So, we have learned many alternate routes, Roxx explained, as he bent down near the broken vase.

I see.

The youth glanced around the room, frowning slightly. Ensign Sato...how did the vase break here?

Before Hoshi could answer, the door slid open to admit Archer and Krysira.

Captain! Krysira! Hoshi exclaimed, then looked around them a bit warily. Wheres Commander Tucker?

Sleeping, Archer told her.

Krysira watched Hoshis face carefully, seeing the attractive ensigns expression change from uncomfortable to relieved.

Roxx straightened, partly done with the clean up. Excuse me, Captain Archer. He continued seeing that he had the humans attention. I was just asking Ensign Sato about this vase, he said.

Archer raised an eyebrow. Oh? What about it, Roxx? He wanted to know.

How did it break here?

Archer glanced at Hoshi, then looked back at Roxx. It...fell.

Fell? The youth looked at the vase then back at Archer. I really can not see this vase falling here. I do remember that there was a vase on the table there.

Hoshi and Archer looked at each other, at a loss for an explanation.

Seeing their dilemma, Krysira moved up to Roxx, casually waving her hand in front of Roxx, invoking the Jedi mind control. How the vase broke is not important. It was an accident, she said in a soft voice.

It was merely an accident, Roxx said under the mind control.

Once again, Krysira passed her hand in front of Roxxs face. You will resume your duties and forget this incident.

I will continue with my duties. Roxx finished cleaning up the broken vase, then turned to the three humans. If you will excuse me.

Krysira merely nodded, watching the youth leave the room. She turned to see Archer and especially Hoshi, staring at her. I believe there is something that I must discuss with you, Ensign Sato, She questioned.

Um...its Hoshi...and...what just happened with Roxx? Hoshi wanted to know.

Krysira clasped her hands behind her back, setting her passive gaze on the communications officer. When you were with Qui-Gon, did you witness anything...unusual?

Hoshi frowned at the question, wondering what that had to do with Roxx. Well...Qui-Gon merely put up his hand and stopped this log that was swinging down towards him. I wondered how he did that. I never got to ask him.

Jedi are attuned to an energy field known as the Force. With training, we are able to use it to gather knowledge, heal and, as a last resort to fight among other abilities, such as Qui-Gon did. The Force is used to protect and assist those in need.

But...Commander Tucker...the vase... she trailed off, becoming agitated at the memory of what happened earlier.

Krysira approached Hoshi and laying a gentle hand on Hoshis shoulder, sent the calming part of the Force into her.

Hoshi felt a wave of calmness seep through her body, relaxing her.

Calm, Hoshi, Krysira said gently. There are those who are not Jedi who have a connection to the Force. Commander Tucker is one who is Force-sensitive. He is just discovering what he is able to do and meant no harm to either you or Captain Archer, contrary as it appeared. He is sorry for upsetting you. She saw Hoshi nod. The reason I did not acknowledge you earlier is that I was focused on responding to his mental plea for assistance. And for that, I apologize. She withdrew her hand.

Its okay, Krysira. I understand that. Hoshi paused for a long moment. Its just that it was rather nerve-wracking to see something like that happen from someone that you didnt expect it from.

Yes, it can be. However, remember this: the Force is... Krysira paused, glancing at Archer with a small smile on her face, then looked back at Hoshi. A good...thing. Although Krysira knew that that wasnt entirely true, she wasnt going to confuse either Hoshi or Archer any more than they were. Perhaps at another time she could explain...the dark side. However, the mere fleeting thought of the dark side caused Krysira to shiver ever so slightly.

Hearing Krysira use his phrase from earlier, Archer had to grin. So...you feeling...okay now, Hoshi? Archer questioned.

Im...a little bit better with it. I guess itll take some getting used to, I suppose, Hoshi replied.

Although, to reiterate what Hoshi asked earlier, Krysira, Archer began. What happened with Roxx?

It is called the Jedi mind control. There are beings whose minds are weak or impressionable enough to be open to suggestions, which we can give. Due to the nature of the situation, I felt that it was imperative to redirect Roxx. Krysira explained. She was clearly uncomfortable talking about this particular ability.

So...you dont do that all the time?

No. We do not abuse this power.

Archer turned to Hoshi. It seems that there is a great deal about the...Force that we dont know about. But, I think with Krysira helping us, well get through this. He then turned back to Krysira smiling at her.

I will do all that I can to help, Krysira answered. Captain, if you will excuse me, I will take my leave and check on Commander Tucker.

Of course. Archer nodded.

Thank-you, Krysira, Hoshi said, looking a great deal less agitated than a few minutes ago.

You are most welcome, Hoshi, Krysira replied.

Krysira bowed slightly and left the room, leaving Hoshi and Archer with a great deal to think about regarding Trip and the Force.
