OTIS THE OCTAPUNK

This is a great photo of the first issue, Silver Ring otis on the left and the later gold ring issue on the right. Note the structural differences. Otis Silver is larger with larger eyes, mouth and brows. The hair is also a different shade. Issue 1 was not stuffed well and the painted features are not as sharp and clear as Gold Otis.

Hurley The Pukin' Toucan

This photo has to be a prototype of Hurley as we have not been able to locate one anywhere in these colors or fabric  The total color scheme is different as well as the over all construction of this Meanie. It is probably a part of the prototype set that features the red Otis that is shown often but never found.

RED OTIS WITH GREEN HAIR

This Meanie has eluded all those who search for him. Although it is shown in ads selling Otis, it is not what they are selling. All we know about it is that it was the first and it appears that it was only produced in very limited quantity, or as a prototype if at all.  Comparing it to the two issues above it does resemble issue 1 more closely. This particular hang tag seems to be only on this first set of Meanies. Perhaps they were LeWinters first Meanies.

CHOCOLATE , First Issue and
DARK or RUDDY BROWN, Second Issue
BUDDY
BUDDY 1. AND
BUDDY 2.

Issue one is a softer color and fabic in a chocolate color. Issue two is more tightly stuffed and has a reddish dark brown shade.
There are small differences in the structure. The tails are noticeably different for one. There are reports of variations in the kerchief on his neck. Second issue sits taller. The panties remained the same in both issues.
Lucky 1 1/2
& Lucky 2
LUCKY

Both bunnies are the same basic rabbit. The most obvious difference is that 1 1/2 has a shiny slick nose and  2 has a red flocked nose. The fabric is different on these and there are other differences in construction that you can only see if you compare the two. There is a second issue of Lucky 1 1/2 that has a peach color instead of tan
BEAR   BARE

Series 2,
Bear Bare 1st issue,
on the left in the  photo has pink lips and doesn't have nipples.

Series 2,
Bear Bare 2nd Issue,
on the  right has red lips and nipples. The eyes are also a little bigger.
PHOTOS***VARIATIONS
The Peeping Tom Cat, issue 1 has only red dots on the end of his protruding eyes
Issue 2 of this meanie has black dots in the middle of those red dots and also has a white dot on the side of the pupil, denoting a light reflection.
The color in the photo on the left is not accurate. Peeping is a dark blue, almost black in color as is photo on right.
