often throughout Ash's journey to challenge him to Pok�mon battles. For Ash to become the World's Greatest Pok�mon Trainer.

Oak has dedicated his life to the study of Pok�mon, and possesses great knowledge on all aspects of Pok�mon behaviour. Ash can learn a lot from Professor Oak, but ultimately he must break away from the Professor and strike out on his own to fulfill his destiny.
Team Rocket is a heartless society of Pok�mon trainers bent on controlling all Pok�mon and, ultimately, the world. Jesse and James are two prominent members of Team Rocket who work with their mischievous Meowth to prevent Ash from reaching his goal.
