Tips For the Aupair

1.)� Be very open with your host parents, if you are having problems make sure you let them know.� The longer you put it off, the harder it is to talk to them about it.

2.)� You aren't going to enjoy your time if you spend your time sulking in your room, you aren't going to meet anyone that way.

3.)� Become social, but be careful, and don't hand out your # to cute strangers, not only do you put yourself in danger, but also your host family.

4.)� A great way to keep in touch with your family is over the Internet, and it takes away from that soon to be huge phone bill.

5.)� Taking courses also gets you out and meeting people, and you also will find out the local hang outs that way.

6.)� Be open to changes, there will be a lot of them.

7.)� Meet other aupairs, it gives you someone to talk to and escape with.

8.)� Plan day trips on your days off to see the sights.

9.)� Make sure you carry a map at all times.� There is nothing like getting lost and not knowing how to get home....oh, and memorize your telephone #!

10.) Make sure you take a camera with you all the time.� It will capture some of your best memories.

11.)� This is YOUR YEAR....DO WHAT IS GOOD AND FUN FOR YOU NOT SOMEONE ELSE THAT YOU WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN!!!� (Thanks to Danielle Maurer)
