Marilyn's thread received: "the drawer string from a pair of PJs that are now too big for me! So it's a step towards my own personal peace (with my body) plan."
Jen's thread received safety pinned to a postcard: "in honor of Aziz, his family and all of the Basra residents in Morocco. After my 2nd summer there as an archaeo. field tech, Aziz gave me a pair of pristine white Moroccan slippers, trimmed in gold. They are the kind that one would wear on a wedding day. They had been gently wrapped in the black cloth this strip comes from - the wrap itself had been cut from an even larger piece. I cherish both the shoes and the cloth - symbol of my time there, and the generosity of those I met there. Aziz, and the other local field workers had never seen my in any shoes except construction workboots... with the exception of the moment I tried on the slippers. I think the cloth still carries the scent of Moroccan spices on it.
