How it all began!!
It all started, when I was ready to get a dog on my own. I researched many breeds, and came across the "Golden Retriever". I read many books about them, and they seemed to fit my lifestyle to a 'T'. I searched around for a breeder, and found one. This was my first Golden, Heidi. This is when I began to truly realize that, they are truly a fantastic breed. When Heidi's long, healthy life came to an end, I was devastated, and it was hard to move on. I knew it was time to fulfill my life with joy of another dog. Then I went on a search determined to find another Golden puppy. As I was searching I called up one breeder, at the time they did not have Goldens but "Labrador Retrievers" I still went on with my search to find the perfect puppy. The Labrador Retrievers, were starting to grow on me. I researched them, and they also seemed to fit into my lifestyle. With no hope, of finding that perfect Golden, I came across another Labrador Retriever breeder, and started my life with my first yellow Lab. I named her Jamie.

McSweeney's Kennel is recognized as a superior producer of healthy Golden and Labrador Retriever puppies. We occasionally have an older pup or young adult available, and at times will have stud to approved bitches. We have shown numerous dogs in the Obedience ring, and are fortunate to owner handle dogs all the way to there titles. Including First place, highest score, youngest to receive title. We have also trained and worked with some dogs in Agility, and soon Field. All this does not mean anything unless we have sound temperament and good health. All of our puppies are raised inside the home amongst the family and are well socialized by the time they go to their new homes. Always striving to better the breed, we take our breeding program quite seriously. We only breed dogs that have cleared with OFA, and have no genetic abnormalities.

We make a point of being there for all of our buyers to answer any questions throughout the lifetime of the dog.
We like to maintain contact with our pups throughout the years.
