Department
Purpose and Mission:
-The intent of Missoula Count Sheriff's Cadeets is to educate and
involve youth in Sheriff's Department operations, to interest them in
possible law enforcement careers and to build mutual
understanding.
The education aspect provides knowledge of the law enforcement function
in one's community whether one enters the field of law enforcement as a
career or not. Through involvement, the Cadet program establishes
an
awareness of the complexities of law enforcement service. While
department personnel remain the key to success, other reliable citizens
and agencies can also become involved in the Sheriff's Cadet program.
Post Membership:
-Membership in the Missoula County Sheriff'ss Cadets is open to young
adults male or female, age 14 and in high school through age 21. Under
the conditions below a person is elegible to apply to the Cadet program.
A. Have parental approval which includes signatures by the Cadet and
his/her parents or guardians on a general liability release form.
B. Be of good health.
C. Be of good moral habits with no
arrest or conviction records to serious offenses.
D.He/she must maintain a C average
(2.0 GPA) in school work.
If
you fit all of these requirements you can pick up an application from
the Sheriff's department in the Missoula County Courthouse.
