Collett-McKay Families Hold 88th Picnic

The 88th annual Collett-McKay family picnic was held at the family picnic grounds on the iron-clad date, the second Saturday in August, with 255 relatives and friends registering.

The picnic grounds, a four-acre park designated for the annual family gatherings, owned and kept for that purpose by the families, are located in a corner of the sugar camp woods, belonging to Mr. Bernard McKay, through which Buck Run flows, near New Burlington.

The whole day was spent in visiting and feasting, with the 150 feet of tables laden with delicious food taken from well-filled baskets at noon, with no program or business meeting scheduled.

In addition to delegations of Colletts and McKays from Clinton county, Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland and many other places in Ohio, those from other states were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Koehler, Elisa, Dorothy, Helen and Richard, of Wildebick, N. J., Coralsia Clark, and Robert, Huntington, W. Va., Mrs. Norman E. Bayless, Winston-Salem, N. C., Gorden Ellis, Woodbury, Conn., Joan and Ginn Vogel, Knightstown, Ind., Brian H. and Karen E. Magee, Fort Collins, Colo.; Mrs. Carney Armintrout, Elkins, W. Va., Mary McKay Rawsey, West Huntington, W. Va., and Helen F. Sahragder, Wichita, Kans.
