| Born in 1995, Hanako is the youngest of Tom's competitors. Hanako began skating in group lessons in March,� 2000.� She became a pupil of Mr. McGinnis in June of 2000. Hanako skates 3 days a week, takes lessons with Tom twice a week, and continues in group lessons. She began competing in� Basic Skills, and took first place in all five of her competitions. She performed her first exhibition program in December 2000, skating to music from "Rigoletto." 2001 marked Hanako's first appearance |

| in "ICE CHIPS, Show of Champions". Hanako was a guest soloist in "An Evening with Champions" hosted by Olympic Medalist Peter Carruthers, in October 2001. As a "Kid helping Kids", Hanako will be skating in exhibitions for the "Twin Towers Orphan Fund". She passed her Pre-preliminary Moves-in-the-Field test in August and is now working on Preliminary Tests. She medaled in her first Freeskate competition on September 17, 2001 at the Boston Open. She took Gold medal honors for her performance in the Preliminary Showcase Event at the Providence Open in November 2001. Hanako is in first grade and attends earlycare programs at her public school.� Additionally, she studies ballet, and takes violin lessons once a week. |
