Master Rated Coach in Figure Skating
As the only coach currently master rated by the Professional Skaters Association in eight disciplines, Tom has imparted his expertise and teaching techniques to a generation of skaters, many of whom have gone on to national and international prominence. He has been a U.S. International and World Team coach, a U.S. Olympic alternate coach as well as a Canadian National and International coach.
As an artistic force, Tom's work as a director and choreographer was most recently seen in the opening ceremonies of the USFSA's National Championships in January, 2001.

Behind the scenes, Mr. McGinnis has worked on various committees promoting and defining the sport, and has judged at the World Professional Championships, the Equal Challange of Champions, and the US Open. Additionally, Mr. McGinnis is Associate Publisher of "International Figure Skating Magazine". The Professional Figure Skaters Association has honored him with its "Lifetime Acheivement" Award.

Mr. McGinnis's association with the Skating Club of Boston dates back to 1961 where Tom coaches in figures, pairs, dance, precision team skating, free skating and choreography. He also heads the Tom McGinnis School of Skating where countless youngsters and adults have benefitted from his calm nurturing attitude in pursuit of their personal skating goals.
