To quote Annie Williams McCormick “ Life is an unfinished task” My dream is that this site will never be complete. I am hoping that it will create interest and encourage people to search and submit more information to share with others. The majority of the information to date has been taken from the “William McCormick Papers 1784-1840. William Samuel McCormick’s dream was to publish some of the family papers to portray the lives and personalities of his ancestors. In 1946 his wife published his work. (More information can be found in the PREFACE.) Now, in 2004, I began a search for the McCormicks, and was told to contact Edith Woodbridge of HEIRS. She had been looking for a volunteer to put McCormick information into a new format and sent this wealth of information for me to work on. If you enjoy this story and appreciate my efforts and would like to participate in the preservation of Essex County local history and genealogy you can share by sending information and /or funds to HEIRS. (A non-profit society dedicated to preserving and sharing history of the area.) They have a small booklet by William McCormick “A Sketch of the Western District”, 1924. (Only $1.00 plus postage) . Please feel free
to copy this information but under no circumstances have you been given
permission to earn money from any information that you gather from this
site. This site will be under construction for some time to come so click
the icon below to see what updates have been made since your last visit.
If you have information to add to the site or if you just want to share
some chatter about this family please email me. Click the yellow icon to
see if you can help me with some questions Enjoy !!! Linda McLean Great Great Great Great Granddaughter of Alexander and Elizabeth McCormick
