                                                To Col. Morgan

 Sir

Some days ago I heard your orders that you sent out to the Delaware Indians concerning me going to Detroit with a few cattle which I bought last fall. This is to acquaint you that I am willing to submit to your orders to what you desire me to do. Two days ago William Braden came here with the intent of going to Detroit but the Chiefs do not think its proper at this time for him to go till they hear further from you as he brought no writings from you. If you thought it proper to permit me to go there I think that I could do the business you want to have done there and be less suspected than he. This is the last time that I want to go there and I intend to bring a large cargo which  I have the promise of from Mr. Robins and Mr. Thomson who are acquainted with my design. Now, therefore, Sir, you know that there hath been done of this kind before twice from Cayahaga, and forwith stopped by the Delaware Indians of taking a few Cattle there which may be a means of stopping me from getting out any goods.  If you think proper to let me take there few Cattle to Isaac Williams which I have sold to him. It will be a great means of serving you and me and many other people. The number of Cattle is 10 and chiefly Cows and Calves which he wants for his own family. I would have come myself to the Fort now but thought it not proper, therefore I send an Indian with this letter whom I myself will pay for his trouble.

I am Sir your most obedient humble Servant

                                                 Alex McCormick
