The students here in Marshall County, Kentucky have been learning school bus safety. Buster the Bus has entertained the students with his fancy driving skills, including wheelies, 360 circles, and spinning moves, while teaching students about school bus safety.
You may ask the question ,who or what is Buster? Buster is somewhat difficult to describe, he takes a little imagination to understand. Physically Buster is a minature, robotic school bus equipped with working stop sign, crossing gate, and flashing red lights just like the big school buses. Buster has a unique feature that make him loveable, such as big eyes that open and shut. He comes with a voice, that he uses to play music and tell his very important message of school bus safety.All these features in such a tiny bus? Oh yes, these are the things children love about Buster.
Even though Buster looks like a large toy, the message he shares is his central feature. Buster wants to tell everyone to be safe when loading and unloading the school bus. Never cross the street in front of the bus until you see the driver signals you it is safe to cross. Buster says never attempt to go back to pick up something you may drop in front of the school bus. Also Buster reminds us never to chase after the bus if you happen to miss the bus.
Buster's main message to children and adults alike is to be very safe in and around school buses as we travel to and from school. The students these buses transports are our most valuable resource.
