| The numbers I used below for the Avg. High & Low numbers are for normal singleton pregnancy. They came from a group of 53 woman. This is a very small group, so if your numbers are different from these it is O.K. in no way do all woman have the same numbers we are just to different. I think it is nice to have something to compare to though. I hope that this is helpful. For more information on these numbers visit the website Early Pregnancy there is a link to it on the homepage. There is a common misconception out there that HCG should double every 24 hours and if it dosn't something is wrong. The following is a guide to how it does double. Remember that even if you numbers dont double exactly as listed below that dosnt mean much. There have been many woman carry a pg to term when the numbers were super low and took a long time to double. Nothing is definite. For HCG levels <1,200mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 48-72 hours. For HCG levels 1,200-6,000mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 72-96 hours. For HCG levels >6,000mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is >96 hours. For those of you who would like the numbers for normal twin pregnancy scroll all the way to the bottom. The woman in this group was even smaller only 29 normal twin pregnancy. |
