About Me My name is Mike Breaux and I am a 23 year old junior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am majoring in Petroleum Engineering and I think I am going to graduate in the Spring of 2003. Physically, I am a cute little fella who stands about 5'3" and weighs about 135 pounds.

My Family Where do I start??? I've lived in Lafayette, LA all of my life, so far. My parents are Martha and Mike Breaux. I have one little brother , Marak, who is 19. He is currently serving in the United States Navy.

My School Years I graduated from St. Thomas More High School in 1996. During high school I played baseball and I powerlifted. I was an All-Acadiana second baseman, and I was a state champion in the 123.5 lb weight class for powerlifting. I enoyed high school, but not as much as I am enjoying college right now. It is going to take me almost seven years to graduate and I am not ashamed of it. Besides, I'm in the National Guard, and if they are going to pay for my school, why try and get out as fast as you can. My philosophy about life is to take your time and just have fun.

My Military Life I joined the National Guard after my first full year in college. I guess I had a little too much fun and lost all the scholarships I had at the time. This is one of the proudest things I think I have ever accomplished in my life. I absolutely love being a soldier in the National Guard. Currently I drill in New Iberia and I am in te Mechanized Infantry. I have attained the rank of Sergent and in May I will be attending BNCOC, which is the two week school you have to go to become a Staff Sergeant. Where I Work
(for now) I really like being busy, so besides doing the National Guard thing once a month, I also have another part time job. I work for Olivier's Sprinkler and Drainage. We install irrigation systems to water the grass and flower beds of people's yards and we also install drainage systems to get the water out of your yard when it rains too much. I really like my job because the pay is good and it gives me a good excuse to goof off and get down and dirty with a shovel.
