| Anarctic Cod This fish could easily weigh in at 100+ pounds. These fish move very slowly in the 28-29 degree water. They are unique in that they make antifreeze in thier bodies because these temperatures can freeze blood. |

| Freighter/Tanker Birth The Coast Guard Ice Breakers have about 45 miles of ice to break so the ships can dock here at Mcmurdo. Normally this is already breaking up but B-15A is blocking the path. 12/21/01 |
