CRIME PAYS

Every day in newspapers, on TV and radio, at work or over the dinner table, conversations sooner or later turn to some recent crime and related concerns. Whether committed locally or not, it is always devastating to everyone involved. Those who commit murders, rapes, assaults, etc., which are far more serious than most other crimes, must be given and serve hard time. All other lawbreakers should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The term “juvenile crime” is a misnomer used primarily by individuals to excuse young lawbreakers. Juvenile crime is simply crime committed by underage males and females and should be treated the same as other criminals. If it is an adult crime, they should be given adult time.

Every year crime rate statistics change nationwide. Some categories go up while others are down with no apparent rhyme or reason. Regardless of crime rates, one thing remains certain; crime must be allowed to continue! Having said all that let me tell you why crime is absolutely necessary for the well being of America.

Stop and think of all the millions employed because of crime. How many people would be out of work if there were no crime? Could our society afford to pay unemployment or hand out years of welfare checks to those losing crime-related jobs? All police departments would be cut by 90%. Sheriffs would need no deputies. Jobs of jailers would disappear completely. All prisons would close. Caseworkers would not be needed. Forget about parole officers—not required. Thousands of workers who manufacture goods and provide services to law enforcement organizations would be out of work.

I have not included attorneys among those who would lose if there were no crime.

They will remain busy regardless. Even if they have to sue each other! Don’t forget the

most dangerous criminals of all---ACTIVIST JUDGES! Their rulings from the bench,

no matter how ludicrous affect far more people than any criminal possibly could.

Too bad they can’t be removed immediately from the bench and jailed. Most judges are fine people and follow the law as it is written; we should all give them the recognition they deserve. But there are still those individuals who continually try to force their demented interpretations of existing laws, or invent newly created ones, on society. All at one time or another, either has first hand knowledge, or has heard of some weird, unjustified ruling or decision given from the bench by someone in a black robe who knows everything.

After reading this, can there be any doubt why crime is so important? Without an enormous nationwide crime rate, where would we be?
