THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE

I believe every American owes a debt of gratitude to the Florida Supreme Court. Their activist subversion of Florida’s election laws forced the restaurants, hotels, and car rental agencies to make way too much money. And, don’t forget all those lawyers who should be home chasing ambulances instead of manipulating those in Florida too dumb to vote properly. Most of all, the “election exercise” finally should convince people of the total lack of character of the Vice President, his running mate and other mindless lackeys who think the American people do not understand what is taking place.
It is evident to anyone who stops to think about it, that the organized mayhem to usurp the presidential election had to have been planned months in advance. It would have taken place in any state with an extremely close ballot tally where the Electoral College votes might come into play. The 300,000 plus plurality of votes nationwide could have come from two or three major metropolitan areas only, and reflect only those who would vote for a Democratic ticket regardless of who was on the ballot.
Mr. Gore and his once highly respected running mate, Joe Liberman, along with other liberals keep up the “will of the people” mantra as an excuse for their blatant attempt to steal the presidential office of the United States. I would like to remind those of you without memories that many others have used this same “will of the people” ploy in the past to justify their actions. Those “leaders” include such notables as Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Fidel Castro, Papa Doc Duvalier, Mao Tse-Tung, Ferdinand Marcos, Manuel Noriega, and Slobodan Milosevic-- just to name a few. The so-called will of the people can, and has been, used throughout history to modify or create societies to conform to one person’s or one political party’s viewpoint. I sincerely doubt if the opinions of the majority ever really controlled anything, anywhere.
President-elect George. W. Bush won the original ballot count, won the automatic re-count, and won the highly partisan hand count in Democratically controlled counties in Florida. To have anything but western hats in the White House now would not only be a travesty of justice, it would also taint every election in the future.
I beg each of you with any sense of right and wrong not to forget which political organization is responsible for this mess in Florida. I thought Jimmy Carter was the worst president until Bill Clinton came along. But, if Al Gore succeeds in his takeover, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” The freedoms Americans have enjoyed will be eroded even further. The world ends for some of us every day. Shouldn’t we try to leave our country in good hands?
