Rights
I sure am glad we all voted for King Daschle and his court of Jesters. No need to name them, we know who they are. O.K., if you insist I’ll tell you! They are primarily Democratic Senators with a smidgeon of Republicans thrown in, along with Judas Jeffords. Nobody will trust him again!(if they ever did.) These millionaire super liberals actually believe their “idiotology” is great for America. This erroneous belief is what makes them doubly dangerous. They simply refuse to understand their actions are pushing this country further into that societal cesspool of total socialism from which there will be no return. There are very few laws, regulations, ordinances, etc., past, present or in the foreseeable future that does not or will not separate most of us from our money, property, or our ability to use either as we see fit, while continuing to take away our basic freedoms. Each generation of Americans loses more and more of them at the whim of those supposedly elected and entrusted to guarantee those same rights. Most laws favor a very few at the expense of all. Lawyers write laws, lawyers interpret laws, lawyers become judges and enforce laws. This Nation used to be of, by and for the people; guess who runs it now! Grab any telephone book and compare the number of Physicians against Attorneys. Surprised? Doctors we need! Lawyers? Ever hear “two wrongs don’t make a right”? Never truer than the following! Remember the Arizona Senator running for the Republican Presidential nomination? Ever since his absurd single issue “campaign finance reform” failed to get him elected, he has tried to tie up Congress for weeks attempting to browbeat his peers into passing a law that is not wanted or needed. It would have been a disaster! Hopefully it has disappeared for good. Maybe Senator McCain will too! Another step back to the controls “R” us liberal religion is the Patients Bill of Rights. Obviously another wrong! Most of these “rights” already exist. New laws are not needed and would be designed only to help fatten the bank accounts of ambulance chasing trial lawyers. Why not! Most of our elected officials and their friends have law degrees and are members of the Bar. Remember lawyers are like Government entities---never creating wealth, only re-distributing it. HMO’s are not medical miracle workers, only money machines (encouraged by Congress) created to serve their bloated bureaucracy. Improved drugs, treatments, and diagnostic equipment, plus the constantly increasing costs of malpractice insurance are some additional reasons behind the high price we pay for health care. There are no “free lunches”. Everyone knows “no good deed goes unpunished”. How true! Because the good guys elected G.W. President of the United States at the expense of Gore/Lieberman, our ultimate cross to bear is putting up with Daschle and Gephardt along with their blind sycophants both in and out of government continuing to force-feed us their brand of stupidity. Unfortunately North Carolinas’ soon-to-be Senior Senator is not only a willing participant in this craziness, he wants to be a leader! Heaven help us! I cannot understand why we allow them to promote their misguided views. Will it be Freedom or Socialism? Can’t have both! Gene Mays 7/14/2001
