IMMIGRATION 2

The majority of responses to my recently published tongue-in-cheek “Annex Mexico” have been positive. To those taking opposite views, I ask you to consider the following information.

The overwhelming majority of immigrants to these United States in earlier years were those wishing only to become American citizens. It took great effort, but for the most part they learned English, adopted our culture and ideals and became productive active participants in our way of life. This was not accomplished overnight. In some cases it took two or three generations, but they persevered. America is a better Nation because of these immigrants. No doubt about it. However, I see two basic differences between earlier immigrants and those arriving across our borders in the last few years.

First, according to the latest census, there are at least 35 million foreigners (Probably closer to 40 million) from one country alone presently in the U.S. If the rate of these people entering our country continues, and one calculates the normal birth rate of those already here; add them together and they will approach 90 million by the next census. There is no nation in the world that would even think about accepting that many people from one source. That the U.S. allows this is a direct result of our political head-in-the-sand ignorance of this obvious invasion and its ultimate problems. This proves the first thing one loses upon assuming political office is good old common sense.

Second, most of us were taught it is only common courtesy and respect to follow the rules of the home you visit. Unfortunately these latest arrivals expect the opposite. My question? If your homeland, language, culture and institutions are so great, why are you here? Would any country, including Mexico accept 40 million Americans? Absolutely not! And I wouldn’t blame them!

I hold no animosity toward, nor do I intend to denigrate any individual from any country. Most Americans, myself included wish the best to all law abiding legal immigrants actually wanting to become productive English speaking citizens of these United States. Others are simply not wanted. Let me be perfectly clear, without a Nationwide common language, preferably English, America will cease to be America.

Regardless of your thoughts on this matter, one thing is certain. The numbers of people coming from Mexico are absolutely unbelievable. Better learn Spanish and get your Sombrero and Serape pretty soon. You will need them in order to blend in!
