SURVIVAL OF THE LONELY

I memorize the words from you that I have-
It's all I have to remember you by.
They fill my mind, my heart, my soul;
becoming a part of my being.

How many pages have flipped on the
calendar since I heard from you last?
You've been gone long, but you
promised to return;so I wait.

It can be hard, waiting for you,
but why let go if the love is there?
The continual struggle drives me onward;
I go my own way, alone.

MY HOPE

When you think of me,                           What comes to your mind?
I could only wish you thought of me
the same way as I do you.

I spend so many quiet nights only
waiting for you to love me,
but I don't mind.

I will not falter, for I have love.
And I will not give up, for I have hope.
And I will not let you go, for I have faith
in you and me and, if you do to,
you'll hold my hand and walk with me
down our path of destiny.
