| Maynell 1 Big Khauna 2 - 27 November 2005 Started this game really well and should of been at least 2 goals up before they even at a shot a goal, but no, we found ourselves 1-0 down after not being alert to a long ball over the top. We got ourselves back into the game after some good work. But our season so far, gave it away due to lack of communication and not defending resolutely. 2-1 down at the break, needed to get into players must start playing and not arguing. Dominated the 2nd half, but again, failed to get any shots on target to test their keeper, gave the ball away cheaply, but we didnt have the killer touch infront of goal. |
| 4 December 2005 Maynell 1 Hemingford Arms 6 We will look back at this game and wonder how we missed 5 glorious chances and gave away 5 silly goals. Once we got back into this game, we were dominating then we shot ourselves in the foot, by playing a dangerous off side game which did go against us. We went 2-1 at half time. We lost our shape in the 1st half and didnt close them down enough, we kept them at bay and created numerous of chances for ourselves and even missed a penalty. Catalogue of errors cost us this game. |
| 11 December 2005 Athletico Angels 9 Maynell 1 Went into this game with only 7 from the original team and 2 new players. We lost 2 players to injury, which then had our team down to only 7 players which included the keeper. Several players were missing from this game and we took a heavy battering. |
| 8 January 2006 Big Khauna 4 Maynell 3 1st game of the new year, so we had 8 regulars and the rest made up of another team. Gave away 2 sloppy goals which were undeserved and didnt deal with their main players, got a goal back but trailed 2-1 until half time. we reorganised and took the game to them and made the score 2-2 with a fine finish, shortly after gave away another silly goal, which again we had to come from behind, missed several other chances, but score our 3rd only for it to be ruled offside. We made up for it and got our well deserved 3rd goal. After an open game, we failed to clear the ball and we conceded the 4th goal after poor defending. |
| 15 January 2006 : Rozario 4 Maynell 2 After losing the last game we played, we were more determined to win this game, which was in our hands. After producing a remarkable comeback only for us to give it away again after making basic errors. Started the game well and matched evrything our opponents had to give us, but went 1-0 down after failing to defend as a team. Trailed 1-02 at half time. Came out in ther 2nd half looking for an improved performance, then we went 2-0 down. We showed a spirited comeback to trail 2-0, to 2-2, but the 3rd goal was error which we were punished. We had several chances to take the lead, but didnt capitalise on it, as we pushed for an equaliser, we allowed them to get a 4th which killed the game off. |
| 22 January 2006 : Jay Cubed 4 Maynell 0 Started the game much better, defended well for the 1st 15 mins, then allowed them to dominate us and allow thier midfield to play thru balls which allowed them to get behind us. We trailed at half time 2 goals down, at the break we needed to regroup and get back into the game. Started 2nd hafl much better but couldnt capitalise on the chances we created. We were still trailing to the 2 early goals, but our comeback was killed off after we lack patient in defending and paid the price, the 4th goal again lack of marking. The scoreline did'nt really reflect the game, could of been 4-4!! |
| 5 February 2006 : Maynell 3 The Welly 2 - Jack Morgan Cup After being dumped our of a previous cup by our opponents and they were confident of doing it again.Started under the coshl, competed with them but we fail to hold the ball up front, which allowed the ball to come back quicker. We spurned our chances due to lack of sharpness in front of goal. Surprisingly the scores was 0-0 at half time. All we needed was a goal, it would make the opposition to leave themselves open, we got our breakthrough, but that was cut 5 minutes later, which they got their equaliser, then we took the lead for a 2nd time, they got back into the game, but we got our 3rd with 15 mins left, but we held on and thoroughly deserved the victory!! |
