We had a "surprise" baseball tourney dropped on us Wednesday. We went up Saturday morning and lost our first game. We checked into the hotel , got a bite to eat and then went downtown to check out a guitar shop and a pawn shop on the square. We hung out there for a while , then went back to the hotel and relaxed until it was time to go back to the park for out 2nd game. They played really good baseball this game and won. We all had a good time in the pool at the hotel and then got a good night's sleep. It was continental breakfast and back to the park 1st thing Sunday morning. The boys evidently didn't get nearly as much rest as I did and didn't look very good at all , they lost again. Our next game was just a couple of hours later , so we just stayed at the park. They lost that game too and were done for the tourney. Brendan went with my mom and dad and Kenny , Linda , Angie and I went to the races at the fairgrounds up there.

We got the car all put back together and loaded up and headed to Brownstown for the night. We started off with our normal less than great draw , a 63. That would put us inside of the 3rd row of the 1st heat. The car felt a little tight , but overall really good in hot laps and I felt good about my chances in the heat even though it was full of good cars. The staff decided to water the track while we were sitting in the line up chute , so we had to go back to the pits and sit , then they called us back to the line up chute to sit there for another 15-20 minutes. When we finally got out there the track wasn't too bad , but seemed to still be plenty greasy , especially on the top. When the green flag dropped the top proved to be too greasy as the cars starting on the outside got freight trained by us inside cars , so I went into turn 1 on the 1st lap in 3rd spot. The car was too tight after they watered the track. I pushed up once in turn 3 and Alan Magner got under me for 3rd , then a couple of laps later I pushed up in 3 again and Brad Cummings got me for 4th. I was able to hold on to 5th and transfer into the feature. I started 13th in the feature and was maintaining around the bottom. I think I had passed a couple of cars , but I wasn't going anywhere too quick. I was trying hard to keep it down as low as I could , which proved to be my downfall. Jay Deckard was hot on my tail and as I went through turn 2 I got a little too low and hit the uke tire with the LF. When I did Jay had no where to go and got into the back of me and spun me around , so I had to go to the tail. I mucked and gommed back around the back of the pack the rest of the race and finished 17th.
It is Ephesians 2:8,9 which reads: "For by grace are ye saved through faith , and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God : Not of works , lest any man should boast."
I give God all the thanks,praise, honor and glory for making this possible.
It is my goal and purpose that people would see this scripture and have the Holy Spirit to get a hold of their heart. If just one lost sinner would accept Christ as a result of this , it would make it all worthwhile.
