Monday 1 July: Team did well in London Heathrow Youth Games Sailing Regatta, and there was much more wind than in previous years, gusting to a force 7. All participants can be proud of themselves. Results now up in the Results Section.

Sunday 23 June: Five sailors participated in the Topper Open Regatta at the Medway Yacht Club. The results are now up in the Results section. The day was very challenging due to strong tides and extremely little wind, but everybody tried to make the most of the day.
Star of the day: Rebecca Challis. Despite her lack of experience in sailing in regattas, and this being her first regatta on tidal waters, she showed that she has potential for the future and was a credit to the team, and never looked out of her depth under such challenging conditions.

Friday 7 June: Congratulations to everyone that participated in the Children in Need Regatta, especially to Steve Wilson who won the Topper Class, and to Ciara Maitland who won the Oppie Class. A big thank you to the staff who organised the event and to Diane and Ian Challis who organised the highly successful Barbecue and Raffle.

Wednesday 22 May: There is now a new online forum, accessible from the menu bar

Wednesday 8 May:
There will be a fun regatta held at the club for Children In Need on Friday 7th June (during the Whitsun holidays). Anybody of any sailing capabilities may enter, but there is a 5 entrance fee, all of which goes to charity. More donations and individual sponsorships are welcome. There will be prizes and there will be the following: Under 13's and Under 14's Oppie Races, Topper Races and a BBQ. All entries must be in before Friday 24th May, see the Contacts section for numbers and addresses.

Tuesday 7 May:
4 sailors participated in the Crewsaver Topper Inlands at Grafham Water. Magnificent winds were present for sailing, especially on the last day where winds were gusting up to 42 mph! A record number of 244 people entered the competition, making the start line very crowded! Results are now up in the Results section.
Star of the Day: Adam Peake - the results say it all - in a competition of generally below-par performances for our sailors, he absolutely obliterated us all.
N.B. It appears that a problem with the server has resulted in some pages being inaccessable and in some pictures not being available for viewing. This will be rectified as soon as possible.

Wednesday 13 February:
Two photos from the Sports Review up in the Photos section, more to follow, plus a report.

Sunday 20 January 2002:
At the annual London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Sports Review for the year 2001, Mayesbrook Lake Sailing Club achieved very high recognition for their performances over the last year. So much recognition was given that Vern Smith won Coach of the Year award and the Sailing Squad won Team of the Year award - this out of all of the teams that participated in any sport during the last year. A huge well done to Vern Smith and the rest of the Sailing Squad - you deserve every bit of success. A full report including photos to be uploaded shortly, hopefully with the Xylonite barge photos.

Wednesday 28 November:
The sailing squad participated in the London Team Topper Event at Southmere Sailing Club. Despite little wind, cold temperatures, six races and having to avoid new sailors, everyone did well. Results now up in the Results section.
Star of the day: Cannot choose one clear winner, so a joint award for Adam Peake for winning the individual class and Ian Challis for winning his first ever race (albeit with a bit of help!)
One report is now up for the Xylonite Barge, more to follow, with photos. See Xylonite Barge under Trip Reports for details.

Sunday 30 September:
The sailing squad were in action again, this time at the Wilsonian Sailing Club Topper Open. Despite cold weather, minimal winds and racing against the World Topper Champion, everybody enjoyed the day in some way or the other. Results are now up in the Results section.
Star of the Day: Jack Finch. Despite participating in few regattas, he shone in this one.

Wednesday 26 September:
Members of the Club have returned from a weekend sailing on the barge Xylonite. A round trip of 48 miles was completed in two full days. Reports to be put up in  Trip Reports section.
