Chichén Itzá

Chichén itzá the most famous site in the Yucatán Peninsula. It is located 90 miles away from Mérida. Here the visitor can see the fusión of different architectural styles which reflect the inlfuences of other classic cultures.

The Pyramid of Kukulcán rises above all the maya constructions, where every 21 st. of Marc, the mayan god Kukulcán seems to play with light and sahdow and give the ilusion of being (present as a snake) descending on the north staircase of the Pyramid.

The visitor has the opportunity of admire other constructionsm such as: The Ball court, the temple of the warriors, The Observatory, also called the snail, as well as two weels, the Sacred one and the X'tolok, where according to the ancient tradition, sacrificial victims were thown.

Near Chichén Itzá the visitor will find a huge cave:Balanché, which was used as a mayan ceremonial site.

the visitor can take a guided tour to the inner places of the cave, and discover the mayan legends. Also, for you convenience, there is a tourist resting place, where you can, get information, enjoy a most beautiful botanic garden, and handcraft are sold.
