"Troy Boy" Troy Knight w/Laurence Knight
versus
MWF Tag Team Champion: "The Heartbreaker" Scotty Heart w/Jay T
and Sean Harley
Singles Match
Referee: Chad Pattison
Writer: Dom Stoate
[Both men actually in the match wait for the bell as they stand,
ready, in the middle of the ring. Troy Knight, looking as fierce as
one can in tight pink trunks, keeps his brow furrowed and his jaw set
as he watches the every move of Scotty Heart.]
JP: This isn't the first time that these
have met in recent weeks. Troy Knight picked up the win on a Dynamite
not too long ago.
Sully: Don't go counting on it being
anything like the last time they fought. A lot has changed since
then.
JP: Such as Troy Knight's partner to the
ring.
[Troy bounces about the ring in a most merry fashion as he awaits
the bell. Scotty Heart, needless to say, is more serious and
concentrated in his pre-bell ritual. Bent over, hands braced onto his
knees as he waits for the signal to get down to the fighting.
Eventually, the bell rings, and it is Heart that is quicker off the
mark. He manages to grab the slippery Troy around the waist and drive
him straight into the turnbuckle. Troy hits it hard and finds himself
on the receiving end of some pretty harsh shoulder-blocks after being
trapped in the corner. He is slammed against the turnbuckle
repeatedly, and so decides for a morealternative means of escape. He
reaches forwards in front of him and grabs one side of Heart's rear.
It is very effective. Heart stumbles backwards in what seems like an
obvious attempt to get away from Knight who, holding his ribs a
little bit, smiles to the audience, arms out stretched.]
JP: Troy Knight, using very unorthodox
methods to get himself out of harm's way. I'm not too sure that those
sorts of moves will sit well with his 'good friend', JTT!
Sully: No? I bet he'd just join in the
fun.
[Troy skips around a little bit, cradling his ribs no more as he
recovers. He dances towards Scotty Heart who is on his hands and
knees before skipping forth and landing a sharp kick to the side of
Heart who rolls onto his back. He drops down onto his knees before
going for the cover.1Scotty Heart powers out. Troy rolls up to his
feet as does Heart. Troy is first, though, and lunges forwards,
landing a rather huge clothesline to him that sends his opponent onto
the back of his neck. Heart hits the canvas hard before sliding
beneath the bottom rope. He stands on the outside of the ring and is
joined by his two partners as he rubs the back of his neck
thoughtfully, not quite sure, apparently, how to approach this one.]
JP: I'm not sure that Scotty Heart is 100%
how to go about this one.
Sully: Of course he is. He is a great
wrestler, and great wrestlers sometimes have to step back and
evaluate the situation.
[Troy leans over the ropes, tongue poking out of the corner of his
mouth as he gestures for his opponent to get back into the ring.
Scotty Heart, much like he did a few weeks ago, looks very hesitant
and uncertain, but, again, with much encouraging from Jay T and Sean
Harley, he slides back into the ring. Troy Knight gives him his space
backing off and letting him get up to his feet.]
Sully: That is yet another mistake from
'Troy Boy'. Giving Scotty Heart space to get back into the
ring.
JP: He is simply giving him a chance.
Sully: You shouldn't be doing that at this
level.
JP: It is just good sportsmanship.
[Troy now carries on with the offensive, or at least tries to,
lunging forwards in an attempt to grab onto his opponent with a lock
of some description. Scotty Heart manages to reverse this movement
and twists the arm of Troy, who yelps out with shock as the pain
shoots through his arm. Scotty Heart twists it some more before
moving Troy towards the corner and shoving him into his roughly. Troy
cries out and does so even more as Heart begins to nail him with
kicks. Harsh stomps to the abdomen see Troy laid in a sitting
position against the turnbuckle. Heart turns around and, arms
outstretched, gestures towards the audience proudly. This gives Troy
chance to pull himself up into a half-standing position.]
JP: How's that for a big mistake?
Sully: Don't be stupid, that's
sportsmanship.
[Scotty Heart turns back to face Troy, but is hit with a big kick
as Troy pulls himself up. Troy brings his feet back down to the
canvas again, and moves after Heart who holds his face, he takes
advantage and grabs him by his leg, lifts him up and hits a high
angle back drop. Scotty lands squarely on his shoulders, Troy does
not let go of his legs and pulls them forwards, going for the
cover.12..Scotty Heart powers out.]
Sully: Hah! It's gonna take more than
that!
JP: I don't think even Troy knew for sure
that he could take Scotty Heart out with that.
Sully: He doesn't know anything.
[Troy pulls himself up to his feet as does Scotty Heart. Troy,
again, manages to get in the first blow, nailing his opponent in the
ribs with a sharp toe kick that doubles Heart up. Troy turns and
leans back on the ropes behind him before moving forwards and hitting
a huge fame asser! The fans, now behind him, make a hell of a noise,
particularly as he goes for the cover. 12Scotty Heart, again, gets
the shoulder up.]
JP: What's it gonna take? What's it gonna
take from Troy to keep this man down?
Sully: A whole lot more then he's been
giving him, that's for sure.
[Scotty Heart rolls to the side, laying on his front on the canvas
as Troy sits up and, for a moment or two, looks rather exasperated
and frustrated with the outcome of the pin attempt, but, after a
moment or two of this, he just shakes his head and then picks himself
up, moving over towards his opponent and grabbing him by the back of
his head. He drags him up to his feet and lashes out with a fierce
right hook that knocks Heart off balance, followed by another. Heart
is stunned and Troy turns, running towards the ropes that are
farthest away. He rebounds off them and runs forwards, jumping
forwards for a flying clothesline, which is not hit. Heart manages to
recover from the stunning blows enough to duck beneath the attack,
not only that but also manages to grab onto his opponent's arm and
drag him for an arm drag. This stunt manages to rouse some cheers
from the audience in Heart's favour, and this does nothing but spur
him on. As Troy stands, Scotty lunges forwards and hits a huge
clothesline that knocks Troy backwards against the ropes.]
JP: Scotty Heart, beginning to actually get
some backing from the fans here tonight.
[On the outside of the ring, Jay T and Harley clap their hands and
cheer on their partner. Troy picks himself up slowly, finding him
feet, just in time to be barrelled down by a spinning heel kick! This
gets more from the audience, who still support Troy with all of their
might, but find some for the retiring Scotty Heart, who is putting on
one hell of a show here.]
JP: Scotty Heart; really taking the match to
his opponent.
Sully: And you expected anything
less?
[Scotty Heart stands back up and, irate, screams something along
the lines of 'GET UP, Y'DAMN FAG!'. Troy slowly pulls himself up to
his feet, looking giddy and unsure as he straightens up, turning
around straight into a huge spear! Scotty hooks the leg. 12..Troy
manages to get the shoulder up. Scotty Heart does not dwell on this
for too long, and kneels up before pulling himself into a standing
position, watching Troy's every move, waiting for a chance to dart
forwards and add to the building offence that he is throwing at his
male-loving opponent. Troy holds his midsection, arms wrapped around
his stomach as he stands and turns towards Heart, who darts forwards
as if trying to hit another spear. This time, Troy is equal to it,
and turns to the side, allowing Heart to run right past and go
tumbling out of the ring, through the ropes. Troy staggers forwards
and holds onto the ropes for support, watching Heart as he picks
himself up. Troy looks up before looking down again and leaning back
before pulling himself over the rope and dive-bombing Scotty Heart,
much to the delight of the crowd. Both men lay out in the middle of
the floor. Much to Knight's delight, he is sprawled over his
opponent, but, believe it or not, this is not what is on his mind at
the moment. What is on his mind is the match, and, as he drags
himself to his feet with the assistance of the ring apron, he would
watch Heart try to pull himself to his feet.]
JP: This match, so far, has taken so much
out of the two men. Scotty Heart wants so badly to end his career on
a high.
Sully: Oh, he will.
[Troy eventually stands up completely and stumbles away from
Scotty who is only just rousing himself. Troy begins to try to pull
himself into the ring, only to have his foot grabbed by Scotty Heart.
Troy tries to shake him off but it is not that easy as Heart kneels
up and wraps both of his hands around the foot of his opponent,
preventing him from properly getting into the ring. The ring count is
well and truly started, and this fact obviously frightens Troy
Knight, who is desperate to get back into the ring before the count
is up, disqualifying them. Heart doesn't seem to be too worried,
holding Troy out of the ring. Troy turns back and lashes out. Scotty,
now standing, ducks beneath the swing and grabs Troy, hitting a huge
german suplex, landing Knight right on the back of his head. Both men
lay flat out on the outside of the ring. 4.5.the count continues.]
JP: If neither man gets back into the ring,
then it is going to be a draw!
[Knight twitches a little bit on the outside of the ring, laying
flat on his front, but it is Heart that first shows any real sign of
getting back into the ring. He picks himself up onto his hands and
knees and lays a hand on the ring apron, struggling to pull himself
into the ring. Troy lays a hand weakly on his ankle as if trying to
do the same to Scotty as was done to Heart. The attempt is too feeble
and Heart manages to just about pull himself into the ring..78
Scotty rolls into the centre of the ring and slowly pulls himself up
to his feet, and, while the referee is both making the count and
warding away Jay T and Harley who have both begun to swarm about the
outside of the ring, Troy Knight pulls himself into the ring in the
nick of time.]
JP: Troy Knight has managed to, just about
do what he was trying to do from the moment he hit that big splash.
He has managed to get himself into the ring and stop himself from
being disqualified!
Sully: Just! It was so close!
JP: Close, but no cigar for Scotty
Heart!
[Both men look as worn out as each other, but it is Scotty Heart
that manages to first pull himself to his feet with the assistance of
the ropes. Troy is noticeably slower in doing so, but he stands up in
time to take a hard right hook from Scotty Heart that knocks his head
to the side. The audience 'woo!' with the punch, and do the same for
Troy when he returns the punch, both men staggering to stay on their
feet.]
JP: You have to notice, in the last match,
it seemed as if both men were just messing around, and-
Sully: Heart never messes around.
JP: But you can hardly say that this kind of
heart was in their last match! They look as if they are fighting for
their lives!
[Troy's punch seems to be the more effective as Heart stumbles
backwards and leans onto the ropes. He goes with the bounce off the
ropes and returns the punch, knocking Troy off balance with a huge
fist across the face. The fans continue to cheer them both on as they
both pull back before locking up in the centre of the ring. Scotty
Heart, being the more technical wrestler, gets the better of his
opponent and throws his arms down before grabbing onto Troy's legs
and pulling him down onto his back. He'd struggle before locking him
into the Forbidden Fruit! The fans, now behind Heart, make a hell of
a noise as he locks in Troy, although, admittedly, a lot of the noise
is for Troy who struggles to reach for the ropes with an outstretched
hand.]
JP: He could have it here! Scotty Heart
could have it won!
[Troy struggles to shuffle towards the bottom rope, and,
eventually, he just manages to grab it. Scotty Heart is very
reluctant to break up the hold, but when ordered to, he does. Scotty
Heart rolls to his feet and stands behind Troy, looking all heated
up, screaming and gesturing for Troy to get to his feet.]
JP: Scotty Heart is on fire here tonight! He
looks about ready to end it all!
[As Troy holds onto his back and begins to struggle (once more) to
his feet, Scotty Heart waits behind him, giving him time to stand up
and find his feet before turning him around and nailing him right in
the midsection with another snap kick. He grabs onto him and goes to
hit The Act of God! Half way through performing the move, however, it
is reversed as Troy pushes him against the ropes with all of the
energy that he can muster. Scotty hits the ropes with his chest and
bounces off, stammering backwards straight into a roll-up. 123!
Troy picks up the win! The fans cheer and his music hits as Troy
rolls out of the ring. Heart kneels up, eyes wide with disbelief as
he holds onto his head, shaking it as he does.]
JP: Troy! Troy justhe just beat Scotty
Heart with a roll-up!
[Troy looks relieved, but one might notice a small twang of guilt
in his face as he backs up the ramp joined by his father who catches
up with him and raises his arm in victory. Troy watches Scotty Heart
who remains in the ring, hands on his thighs as he kneels there.]
Peter Santos: And your winner, through pinfall, Troy
Knight!
Sully: What a cheap win! What a cheap way to
beat the man in his last match!
JP: Well, many a match has been won with a
roll-up, it's just a shame that his last match in the MWF was lost in
that way.
[Troy still looks on with a hint of guilt as Jay T and Harley
enter the ring to console Scotty Heart. Soon after Troy left the
area, and after his music had died down, Ed Walker's music hits. The
fans hum with excitement as down the ramp, the President of the MWF
walks, a microphone in his hand as he heads down towards the ring
which is populated by the three.]
JP: An- What's Ed Walker doing down
here?
Sully: Perhaps come to rub salt into the
wounds of poor Heart.
[As Walker gets into the ring, he begins to speak over the fans,
microphone-aided voice floating through the arena.]
Walker: Scotty You put on one hell of a
show tonight. And, I know that tonight was your last show here at the
MWF. I know that you have already made that decision.
[Hands on his hips as he kneels there, Scotty Heart looks up
towards the President as Harley and Jay T stand either side of him.]
Walker: I know that you worked your guts out
in this very ring week in and week out, and for that, I say 'thank
you'.
[This gets a buzz out of the audience as Scotty remains kneeling
on the canvas, head hanging.]
Sully: That's it? A 'thank you'? He deserves
some sort of medal!
[Walker pauses for a moment to let the audience make some noise
before continuing.]
Walker: And, despite the fact that you have
not always appreciated it, the fans have always appreciated you and
what you do. They have always responded to your actions both in and
out of the ring in a way we haven't seen before. You have been a
large part of the company.
[The fans are quiet as Walker talks, taking his time as Scotty
Heart looks to the side, still kneeling down.]
Walker: You can still be a large part of the
company. In thanks for all of the things that you have done for the
company, I extend the offer of a contract any time that you
want.
[Scotty Heart looks down again as if in thought before pulling
himself up into a standing position. He has an eye-to-eye with Ed
Walker for a little bit as the fans begin to chant 'Sco-ttee!
Sco-ttee!'. He turns to face a bulk of the audience for a short
time.]
Walker: That's what I'm offering you, Scot.
That's what I'm gonna give you. The chance at any time to return to
the MWF. Because, believe it or not, you've always been appreciated
here for what you do
[Scotty Heart turns to look back towards Ed.]
Walker: Well done Scotty Heart, well
done.
[The hand of the MWF President is extended to "The Heartbreaker"
and Scotty Heart stands, extending his hand and shaking with the MWF
President. The crowd roar at this show of respect from the MWF
President and ten thousand fans stand, applauding Scotty Heart as he
turns away from Walker and raises his arm to the fans, absorbing
their cheers. The camera turns to the entrance way where the entire
MWF roster has appeared to applaud Scotty Heart, NomaD, Anarkist,
Commissioner Wayne, General Manager Dom Stoate, The Hobo, Doomsday,
Shiv and Troy Knight have all returned to applaud Scotty Heart.
Heart's face is full of smiles as he takes the mic from the MWF
President.]
Heart: It's been a battle to be here....I'm
not usually a man of few words but tonight I shall be. This is my
last ever match for the Maximum Wrestling Federation, I'd like to
thank you all for the times I've shared here, I will never forget
this place. So thank you everyone, all those that even I didn't like,
thanks for making this the most special time in my life.
[A tear trickles down the side of Scotty Heart's face as he drops
the mic and climbs the turnbuckle, the crowd roar as he taunts one
last time.]
JP: What a fine role model he is to young
wrestlers entering the MWF....and look at the entire roster out here
to salute a true wrestling legend.
Sully: I think I'm going to cry soon, I've
always supported and believed in Scotty Heart and I always thought he
would be the MWF World Champion.
JP: He never quite achieved that, but what a
career he's had....not just here in the MWF but everywhere.
Sully: Always helping to set the standard, a
tremendous achievement.
[Scotty Heart climbs through the ropes, waving to the crowd as he
climbs the entrance ramp....glancing back to the ring where the MWF
President, Sean Harley and Jay T applaud him. Scotty Heart turns and
the entrance ramp is lined with MWF wrestlers and staff who all
applaud as he passes them, Anarkist pats Heart on the back,
Commissioner Wayne offers a firm shake of the hand......Scotty Heart
is crying as he comes to the end of the entrance ramp, just before
the final curtain. He turns and Troy Knight walks up to him, the two
men throw their arms around each other and the crowd explode with
cheers at the show of friendship between the two. Troy Knight
playfully pats Scotty Heart on the behind and "The Heartbreaker"
laughs, he turns and his wife Tonya stands at the exit curtain.]
JP: Even Tonya's out here to take Scotty
away, he's retiring to become a family man.
Sully: I......don't think, I can.....hold it
back....
JP: Sully's crying! Sully's crying!
[Scotty Heart kisses his wife and they embrace, the fans
applauding as the two walk hand in hand through the entrance curtain
and the roster follows them and the scene fades to a set of
commercials.]
