[In the back of the event, a few equipment workers are talking to each
other about recent Maximum Wrestling Federation events, and who will win the
Super Bowl. Steven Douglas is seen walking backstage to his match with
Father John Ramsey, this time without the Maximum Wrestling Federation
shirt, and he passes by the men talking. One man watches Douglas pass, and
mumbles some derogatory words, and Steven catches them briefly. He stops,
then walks backwards to the men. He gets in the face of the man who
whispered the words, puts on an angry face, then speaks.
Steven Douglas: What was that? Did you say
something? Come on, what was it? What, you don't have the guts to tell
me?
[The man trembles, and mutters the phrase.]
Equipment Worker: I said, Douglas is going to WEW that bas...
Steven Douglas: Shut it, what are you talking
about? Who said I was going to Worldwide Entertainment Wrestling?
Equipment Worker: You were on your cell earlier talking to Harlum, so
we all thought...
Steven Douglas: So you all thought what, that I was
switching companies? Does everyone think this? Son of a... hey, you,
cameraman, get over here.
[The cameraman catching this incident on tape comes close to Douglas.]
Steven Douglas: I want you people out in the crowd
and backstage to forget this damn rumour about me going to Worldwide
Entertainment Wrestling. I did not spend time in a place like Missouri
State Wrestling to waste it by transferring to Worldwide Wrestling
Entertainment. I am here, for good, or at least I hope. You see, I was
indeed on the phone with Ben Harlum, but the topic was about a match for me
at Conflict. Razor "Lee" Watson, the former skid mark of the Maximum
Wrestling Federation, has gone over to Harlum's company and even after I
beat him before is asking for another match. I did not want to waste my
match at Conflict with him, but I decided to put him out of his misery and
fight him for the last time. The only way I would do it is if there was a
special stipulation for the match. The loser leaves their company FOREVER. No returning, no one time matches, not to ever return. Edward Walker has
okayed the match, as has Razor, now the ball is in Harlum's court. Ben, you
know you want to see him out of your federation, but if you want me to face
someone better, so be it. Now, if you will excuse me, I have a match to
win.
[Douglas walks away and as he does a door swings open down the corridor
and the MWF CEO strides towards him.] Walker:
Douglas! Douglas! Steven Douglas: Yeah?
Walker: That match is off...damnit, I told you.
Steven Douglas: But...
Walker: But what? I don't want to put an MWF wrestler's contract on the line
against some piece of crap from the WEW. [Douglas turns away from the
MWF CEO and just walks off, leaving Walker clenching his fist.]
Walker: Don't you walk away from me... [Steven
Douglas lights up a cigarette and smiles as he takes a drag, he turns back to
the MWF CEO.] Steven Douglas: Walker...you know I don't
care about you. I want Watson at Conflict, no matter what the stipulation is.
Walker: I'll confirm it soon...
Steven Douglas: ...good, now if you'll excuse me I have a
match to prepare for. [The scene cuts back to the arena where JP and
Sully are discussing what just happened.] JP: The cheek!
The cheek of Steven Douglas.Sully: He's a cocky bastard and quite rightly.
JP: Rightly? He doesn't deserve to be. Sully: He does, Douglas is going to be
a legend down the line. [Before JP can get another word in we're taken
backstage and into the locker room of The Grudge, the MWF Xtreme Champion is
sitting on his seat and he is throwing a baseball up and down. He suddenly drops
the door in shock as the room of his locker room is thrown open and the MWF CEO
strides in.] Grudge: What the?
Walker: Grudge, my friend.
Grudge: Yeah? Walker: I've got an opportunity for
you that you cannot refuse. [The Grudge looks up at the MWF CEO, quite
a cold look on his face.] Grudge: I've had too many men
of authority telling me that they've got an opportunity for me. [The
MWF CEO sits down beside The Grudge and turns to look at him.]
Walker: You told me, that you were willing to carry the
right to the WEW. Grudge: Yeah...
Walker: ...well here's your chance, a real chance to do
that. Grudge: What do you want me to do?
[The MWF CEO takes a deep breath, and stares away from The Grudge.]
Walker: I know it's a hard task, but I want you to take
the place of Gutter Rat at Conflict. [A smile creeps across The
Grudge's face.] Grudge: You've got yourself a deal,
that's an opportunity I can't pass by. [The MWF CEO smiles and extends
his hand, The Grudge shakes it and both men look extremely pleased.]
Walker: Thank you Grudge, I won't forget this. The MWF
will be thankful for your courage. [CEO Walker gets up and makes his
way to the door, he opens it and then walks out leaving The Grudge to pick up
the baseball and continue throwing it.] JP: The Grudge
versus Karagious at Conflict, finally it will happen.Sully: That's going to
be off the hook, after Gutter Rat disappeared it has fallen to The Grudge and
what a great job he'll do. --- Commercial Break: The Darkened Hour
