Father John Ramsey

versus

"The Enervator" Steven Douglas

Singles Match

Referee: Chad Pattison

Writer: Ed Walker

JP: This is going to be a great match, both of these men seem really motivated to win.

Sully: I can't pick a winner but if I had to, say someone had a gun to my head, I'd say Steven Douglas has this one just over Father John Ramsey.

JP: I wouldn't be so sure, Ramsey's got more experience and he's such a talented guy.

Sully: But it's so confusing, he's a priest and he wrestles, it's just not right.

JP: What's so wrong with it?

Sully: Well, for a start I'm sure God doesn't promote violence and yet Ramsey is right here promoting and committing violence.

[Peter Santos is in the centre of the ring and the crowd cheer as he prepares to announce the match, he raises the mic to his lips and his voice booms around the arena.]

Peter Santos: Ladies and gentlemen, this next match is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, weighing in at 163 lbs., from Orlando, Florida, Father John Ramsey!

[A roar goes up from the crowd as the sound of hymns echo's through the arena and gold lights shine onto the entrance way, and the sign of the cross appears on the MaxiTron. Father John Ramsey walks out with his arms outstretched and his head raised up to the heavens, he has a big smile on his face as he raises an arm to the crowd and makes the sign of the cross. The devout amongst the crowd follow this and make the sign of the cross and Father John Ramsey makes his way down the entrance ramp.]

JP: Amen...such a great guy.

Sully: I can't believe everyone has fallen for his little charade...

JP: ...I don't know how you get away with it, every week you're insulting a man of the cloth.

Sully: He's about as holy as my dinner cloth!

[Ramsey shakes the hands of a number of fans as he reaches the ring, he climbs the ring steps and steps in through the middle rope. He is thrown a microphone by Peter Santos and the fans fall silent as they await the sound of Ramsey's commanding voice. The hymns are dropped down in volume to low level background music.]

Ramsey: Hello Madison, Wisconsin!

[This cheap pop sends the crowd wild as they leap to their feet and proclaim their love for Father John Ramsey.]

Ramsey: Wow....what a response. I hear some of you guys and girls have been sleeping outside the arena just to make sure you got front row seats for tonight. That's a real act of faith and I'm sure tonight you'll get to see the Good Lord in action.

[The fans cheer and applaud, the fans in the front rows go wild at the mention of their efforts.]

Ramsey: It really is fantastic to be here in Madison. As many of you will know, last night it was Authority...and that heathen Insane Wayne was sent down from his position as MWF President by CEO Edward Walker. I'd just like to offer up my endorsement of this action and say that I'm glad to see such a corrupt and evil man sent down to where he belongs....on the MWF roster!

[The fans roar in response, Ramsey takes a deep breath and makes the sign of the cross.]

Ramsey: Now let us pray. Let us pray for this coming Thursday when myself, and a number of other MWF stars will lead the battle against those, those, WEW fiends. We will compete in a match and the importance of it cannot be understated. I am prepared to put my body on the line if it means we come away with a victory and...

[Father John Ramsey is cut off as the sound of "Freak Of The World" by Puddle of the Mudd blasts from the PA system and Father John Ramsey turns in shock to the entrance way where recently promoted wrestler Steven Douglas stands, bathed in dark green lights. "The Enervator" sparks up a cigarette and stands cockily on the entrance way looking down at the ring where Father John Ramsey makes the sign of the cross.]

Ramsey: Let me introduce to you, weighing in at 283 lbs., from the depths of Hell, Michigan, the despicable, the disgusting, Steven Douglas!

[Ramsey is roaring above the music as Douglas walks down the entrance ramp, and spits his cigarette out a pregnant woman in the front rows of the entrance ramp, Father John Ramsey spots this and seethes with rage at the irresponsible actions of Douglas.]

JP: I can't believe this heathen...he shouldn't be allowed to get away with such terrible, terrible actions.

Sully: He's a great wrestler and that's all that matters.

JP: Ramsey is going to make him pay tonight.

Sully: Ramsey doesn't have a hope in heaven of winning this one.

[Steven Douglas reaches the ring and the crowd grow with anticipation as Douglas climbs up onto the ring apron, he pauses for a few moments and stands clinging onto the ropes as Father John Ramsey is removing his priest's robes. Douglas takes off his jacket and walks along to one of the turnbuckles, he takes out his cell phone and turns it off, before hanging the jacket on the turnbuckle. Steven Douglas ducks into the ring and raises his arms to the jeering crowd.]

JP: No respect at all for anything.

Sully: At least he turned his phone off before starting the match.

JP: Maybe so, but who in their right mind brings a cell phone to the ring?

Sully: Excuse me...

[Sully's phone suddenly starts to beep as Father John Ramsey shakes hands with Chad Pattison and prepares to lock up with Steven Douglas. "The Enervator" wipes a bead of sweat from his brow and prepares to face the man of the cloth. The bell sounds and the crowd cheer as Father John Ramsey circles round...Douglas walks towards Ramsey and the two men lock up. Douglas has a considerable weight advantage and he makes it pay with a leaning knee into the mid section of Ramsey. The crowd jeer as Douglas brings his elbow down onto the back of Father John Ramsey and the priest drops to his knees. Douglas lets out a cry of joy as he brings a knee into the face of Father John Ramsey and then hoists him up into a grapple position. The ring shakes with impact as Steven Douglas executes a DDT that sends Ramsey sprawling head over heels.]

JP: Damn, Ramsey really felt that one.

Sully: For a follower of this priest you swear quite a lot.

JP: I said damn...

Sully: ...see you just did it again!

[Ramsey attempts to pick himself up and he's given a helping hand by Steven Douglas. The priest is on his feet but Douglas is in control as he leads Ramsey over to the turnbuckle...the crowd jeer as Ramsey's face is smashed into the turnbuckle by Douglas. "The Enervator" smiles and looks to irish whip Ramsey into the opposite turnbuckle, but Ramsey puts the breaks on and the crowd cheer as Ramsey sends Steven Douglas into the adjacent turnbuckle. The turnbuckle and Douglas collide, and it happens to be the one where Douglas' coat is hanging and his coat is sent tumbling to the outside. Douglas staggers away from the turnbuckle and straight into a behind grapple from Father John Ramsey...who hits a bridged german suplex, and Chad Pattison counts ...1...2! The crowd jeer as Steven Douglas breaks out of the pin attempt.]

JP: Great technical skill from Father John Ramsey there, he really bridged that one perfectly.

Sully: Yeah, yeah...at the end of the day it doesn't matter how well you do the move.

JP: It does, you see that will really have put pressure on the shoulders and back of Steven Douglas.

Sully: A good old fashioned right hand to the face usually does it.

[Ramsey rolls over and grabs the right arm of Steven Douglas, he stands up and keeps hold of the right arm of Douglas and the crowd roar as Ramsey drives his knee into the right elbow of Steven Douglas. "The Enervator" roars with pain as Ramsey lowers the elbow and then jumps down and brings his knee again down into the elbow socket of Steven Douglas. Chad Pattison has a quick word with Ramsey and the priest responds by picking up Steven Douglas and looking for a fireman's carry. Ramsey hits the move and looks for the cover again ...1...2! Douglas is able to roll the shoulder and Ramsey then looks for a manhistrol cradle. Douglas thought is up to the challenge and the crowd jeer as he reverses and executes an inside cradle that has Ramsey on his back ...1....2! Ramsey breaks out of the move and grabs the right arm of Steven Douglas. He pulls it behind Douglas' back, but "The Enervator" slams his left elbow into the face of Father John Ramsey. The priest is sent backwards and he holds his face in pain.]

JP: Smashing a priest in the face, it's not on.

Sully: Father John Ramsey chose this lifestyle and he'll have to live with the others that also decided that wrestling was for them.

JP: Maybe so, here comes Douglas.

Sully: Get some momentum Steven and finish him right off.

[Steven Douglas holds his right arm and shakes it to try and wear off the pain that Ramsey caused to it, he crouches down and pauses for a few moments as Father John Ramsey attempts to get back to his feet. Ramsey gets back to a standing position, as he turns round Douglas makes his move. "The Enervator" swings his leg upwards and catches Father John Ramsey sweetly on the jaw with a superb superkick. Ramsey is sent flying backwards, so far that he actually hits the ropes. Ramsey bounces off the ropes and Douglas catches him, and executes a belly to back suplex. Ramsey skids over the canvas and stops just before the turnbuckle. Steven Douglas goes after him and hooks the leg ...1...2! Father John Ramsey kicks out to the delight of the crowd.]

JP: That was a close one, Steven Douglas showing just how high impact moves can really work.

Sully: Douglas is just as technical as Father John Ramsey, in fact I'd say he's better.

JP: Why would you say that?

Sully: He's got more weight behind him, Father John Ramsey's a skinny bastard.

[Father John Ramsey is pulled up to his feet by Steven Douglas and the crowd jeer as Steven Douglas sends Ramsey into the turnbuckle. The priest smashes into it, with his back against it and "The Enervator" comes running after him and throws his bodyweight into him. But Ramsey ducks and rolls out of the way, and Steven Douglas slams into the turnbuckle, with his right arm taking the majority of the impact.]

JP: Ouch! That must of hurt.

Sully: Douglas is going to be feeling that one tonight.

JP: Clever tactics from Ramsey, he knows he can't afford to get trapped in a corner with someone over one hundred pounds heavier.

Sully: Douglas would of won this match if he'd trapped Ramsey and then knocked the stuffing out of him.

[Steven Douglas staggers away from the turnbuckle and Father John Ramsey springs to his feet and the crowd go wild as he grabs the right arm of Steven Douglas and locks in the Cross-Face Chicken Wing! Steven Douglas screams with pain as Ramsey has the hold locked in and the two men are in the centre of the ring.]

JP: There's no escaping this, Steven Douglas is in real trouble.

Sully: Come on Douglas, you're a sneaky bastard.

[Steven Douglas roars with agony as Ramsey locks the hold in tighter and Chad Pattison gets around the side to get a closer look. The fans are cheering on Father John Ramsey as he looks up at the heavens and calls on Steven Douglas to repent and give in...but Douglas shakes his head and stays strong. Chad Pattison looks closely at the hold and checks on Steven Douglas.]

JP: He's not giving up, Father John Ramsey worked on that right arm of Steven Douglas and it must really be hurting him now.

Sully: Douglas is going through hell right now, it must feel as if the devil himself has this hold locked in.

JP: I'd never call Ramsey a devil!

[Steven Douglas' face goes red with exertion as he attempts to break free, but Ramsey struggles and doesn't let Douglas move...the crowd's cheers and chants for Ramsey suddenly turn into shouts of warning as a figure leaps from the crowd.]

JP: It's Jeff X!

Sully: Son of a bitch...what's that redneck doing here?

["The Rock Solid Redneck" has a lead pipe in his hand and he slides into the ring behind referee Chad Pattison, the crowd jeer and scream as Jeff X smashes the lead pipe into the back of Chad Pattison's head and the referee goes down with a thud. Father John Ramsey exerts more pressure on Steven Douglas and looks for the referee...but all he sees is the smirking face of Jeff X and a lead pipe next to the fallen body of Chad Pattison. Ramsey releases the hold and Steven Douglas drops to the mat, clutching his right arm in pain as Jeff X grabs Ramsey. The crowd gasp as Jeff X kicks Ramsey in the groin and hits the X-Crusher! Ramsey's head slams into Jeff X's shoulder and then his body hits the canvas.]

JP: X-Crusher! X-Crusher!

Sully: Jeff X has just destroyed Father John Ramsey with that devilish move...I don't like the priest but this fool doesn't need to show his face tonight.

JP: Someone needs to put that boy on a leash...

Sully: ...now come on Steven, get up and cover Ramsey!

JP: Jeff X has cost Father John Ramsey the match, he's cost him big time.

[Jeff X grabs the lead pipe and slides from the ring, leaving Father John Ramsey out cold. Chad Pattison is also motionless, while Steven Douglas is unable to move his right arm properly. Douglas with his left arm pushes himself up slightly and then collapses again...a "Ramsey! Ramsey! Ramsey!" chant is going around the arena in Madison, Wisconsin as Chad Pattison is awoken slightly. Father John Ramsey is still out for the count and there for the taking as Steven Douglas again attempts to pick himself off the canvas, his left arm shakes with the strain as he gets up slightly and crawls across the mat towards where Ramsey is collapsed.]

JP: Jeff X is going to have hell to pay if Father John Ramsey loses this match.

Sully: Oh he will, but that can wait until Cyberslam.

JP: Father John Ramsey deserved to win this match and yet he's been robbed, absolutely robbed by the actions of one individual.

Sully: Steven Douglas has hit the jackpot and that grin on his face shows he knows it.

JP: I think that's more of a grimace...

[Steven Douglas inches his way across the ring and finally reaches the body of Father John Ramsey...he drags his body over Ramsey's and waits for the count. Chad Pattison is slowly coming to his senses, he feels the back of his head and looks completely disorientated. He manages to look over and the crowd gasp as he spots the cover on Father John Ramsey, groggily Pattison crawls to his knees and is able to slap the canvas ....1....]

JP: No!

Sully: Steven Douglas, you complete lovable asshole.

[2....3! The crowd go wild with anger as the bell sounds and Steven Douglas rolls off Father John Ramsey and lays panting on the canvas. He is still holding his right arm, and Chad Pattison is barely able to stand as a medical team rush down the entrance ramp.]

JP: Jeff X has cost Father John Ramsey a win that he was going to pick and continue his dominance in the MWF.

Sully: It's not right, but Steven Douglas won't be complaining.

JP: You know earlier I thought Douglas was defecting to WEW...

Sully: ...yeah?

JP: Well I don't care what he says, this was a setup!

Peter Santos: And your winner, through pin fall, Steven Douglas!

[Steven Douglas is being treated by the medical team, and a medic checks on Father John Ramsey who is being brought around with a wet sponge. Chad Pattison is being loaded onto the stretcher, while a medic now helps Steven Douglas to stand.]

JP: I hope Walker has something to say about this, because it's not right.

Sully: Cyberslam, the MWF will get its revenge.

JP: We certainly will.

Sully: The magnificent seven of the MWF face off against the bastard seven of WEW.

JP: Jeff X is one of those WEW wrestlers and I don't think he quite knows what he's getting himself into with his messing around tonight.

[The camera fades from the arena, where Steven Douglas is being supported and helped out of the ring...he looks on with no concern for Chad Pattison who is being wheeled up the entrance ramp on a stretcher. The camera now cuts to a view of an office, and the camera rises up the trouser leg of a man to reveal the MWF CEO Edward Walker standing there, he has one hand in a fist pressed against the flat palm of another. He turns and the camera pans along his back to look out into his office, and see the assembled mass of Thunder Bull, Sozzey, Mak, The Grudge, Gunman Stinger and Doomsday all standing there, side by side.]

JP: Wow, that's quite an impressive array of talent.

Sully: The WEW doesn't stand a chance.

JP: Just think, Father John Ramsey isn't even in that room.

Sully: I wonder what Walker has to say?

[The MWF CEO coughs and smoothes a crease in his shirt.]

Walker: Thank you for coming. This is a very important moment, because tonight we show to the WEW that we are now a united front. Now that President Wayne is no more, you will be under my leadership and mine alone. I want you to forget everything you ever knew and remember this.

[Walker walks up to the line of MWF wrestlers that fill his office, he stands in front of Doomsday and speaks.]

Walker: We are the better company. We are the better wrestlers. We have everything better than they do, ignore their words, ignore their insults and just focus. If we keep our focus and work as a team there is no way that they can beat us. Remember we are a team, fight for each other as well as yourselves.

[Walker walks down the line to Sozzey and Mak.]

Walker: We are all brothers, brought together by a common goal and now we stand on the edge of war. A war that will grip the entire wrestling world and I tell you now, whoever wins this war will have their spoils at Conflict. You can knock their confidence right down to the ground, they will not recover from this crushing defeat. The magnificent seven on each side, well men, I want you to wipe the shine off their stars.

[Thunder Bull nods in agreement, as Walker stands in front of him.]

Walker: We have the experience in this line of wrestlers...some of you are veterans, some of you are newly crowned champions, but every single one of you is worth as much as the other when it comes to this war. I value each and every one of you, I don't care about what has happened before because as of now it all begins again. This is the Maximum Wrestling Federation, and I don't know about you...but I'm ready for a bit of Conflict.

[Walker smiles and backs away from the line of MWF wrestlers, he punches his fist into his palm and shouts.]

Walker: Now go, and make your way to Pittsburgh, and I want to see all seven of you standing tall over seven fallen WEW bastards. Give them hell!

[The six MWF wrestlers present roar and punch the air, as the scene fades out on the face of the MWF CEO who sits on the edge of his desk and looks out through his window at the dark of the night. Just before the camera shuts out completely he speaks, directly to the camera.]

Walker: You see what you've done Harlum, you have awoken us, and for that you'll pay the ultimate price.

[Walker winks at the camera and the scene fades to black and the MWF/WEW: Conflict logo is shown.]
