[The scene cuts backstage and the crowd cheer, although a few jeer, as a
contender for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship is shown standing in front
of an MWF logo. Ian Gonzales is standing with him, microphone at the ready.
Tempest smiles briefly and waits for Gonzales to start.]
Gonzales: Tempest, this is a fantastic opportunity for
you tonight. How are you feeling ahead of the big clash?
Tempest: I will have to admit I am slightly nervous. I
witnessed first hand the match between Father John Ramsey and Enigma, unlike
you, I was down at ringside and I saw every bit of effort that Ramsey put into
beating Enigma...which I tell you is no easy feat.
Gonzales: Do you think those nerves will affect your
performance?
Tempest: There is nothing wrong with getting nervous,
it's a natural human reaction, especially when in situations like this. If I was
facing someone like Stud then maybe I would be less nervous...but I've got to
get out there in front of ten thousand people and make sure I do a good job for
them.
Gonzales: This Japanese crowd have started to turn for
you...they're really enjoying seeing you around, your promotional work and yet
they haven't seen you in the ring. Is tonight the night you justify all the
hype?
Tempest: Hype? I don't think there has ever really been
any hype surrounding myself. I've worked my way up, and I will be the first to
admit I took a long time to reach this pinnacle and I like to think I've earned
it. I appreciate this change in fortune from the crowd, they are finally
starting to appreciate what I do and hopefully I can translate that into a great
performance tonight and take Father John Ramsey out of the MWF World Heavyweight
Championship equation.
Gonzales: You have great respect for your opponent
tonight...yet he hasn't wrestled as many matches as you, he's not been around
the MWF as long, yet you still show him respect, why?
Tempest: Because it's polite. I mean, for a start the
guy is an ordained priest and it's very hard to slag off a man of God. That's no
small feat, and also because I admire his work ethic. This guy has been matching
me, training session for training session, promotional event for promotional
event, interview for interview, and yet as you say he's fought less matches than
me and not been here as long...but that's the way it goes. He is healthy
competition and I feel tonight we can bring the best out of each other and
really push ourselves to the maximum for the fans here tonight.
[A cheer can be heard in the background from the fans in the Kyoto arena, Ian
Gonzales coughs.]
Gonzales: One final question for you, as I know you'll
be raring to head out there and get stuck in...but, any thoughts on Thunder Bull
and "The Kovenant" that has been revealed?
Tempest: I'm not focusing on that right now, I have to
beat Father John Ramsey and if I don't then I won't be facing Thunder Bull. But
if I was to overcome Ramsey's challenge then I feel confident, and believe in
myself to do the job against Thunder Bull. I've done it three times before, and
I'll do it again and finally claim the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.
Gonzales: Okay, thank you Tempest. Great to speak to
you and good luck for tonight.
Tempest: Thanks Ian.
[Tempest walks off towards the ring and prepares to get ready for the biggest
match of his career, as Ian Gonzales hands back to JP and Sully at ringside.]
JP: Tempest is a shrewd competitor, he doesn't give
much away and it's going to be a real technical feast tonight between these two
men.
Sully: So much talent between two men and picking a winner is impossible.
JP: The ringside ban means "The Master Plan" are taken completely out of the
equation, so is Eric, Father John Ramsey's young manager.
Sully: A lot riding on this match, a hell of a lot and whoever wins it will
go on to face Thunder Bull at March Madness in London, UK.
JP: It's going to be a great show, it really is.
Sully: We're going to take a short break but we'll be back with Tempest
versus Father John Ramsey!
