MWF Television Champion: "GMS" Gunman Stinger w/Insane Wayne
versus
"The Enervator" Steven Douglas
MWF Television Championship Match
Referee: Grant August
Writer: Dom Stoate
[Fireworks pop off, shooting up into the darkness of the
arena sealing the ceiling and colouring the air above the audiences head blues
and reds and greens. The attention of them would only be on the fireworks for a
short space of time as something else draws there attention. Or rather, someone
else. Theyd cast their gaze and their cheers towards Steven Douglas as he steps
out onto the entrance way, nodding in approval of the sound made by the
audience. Hed outstretch his hands, nodding and smiling before making his way
down the ramp. Hed cast his eyes on the ring that stands in front of him,
stomping his way towards it before sliding beneath the bottom rope and standing
in the ring.]
JP: This man is perhaps the most
on-form of wrestlers in the business today. Hes come out the winner in many
difficult matches including one against both Gunman Stinger and Insane Wayne.
Sully: And Im not saying that he hasnt got a chance
against Stinger. Its just Gunman is the title-holder and he is not gonna want
to lose it, particularly not against Douglas who, as you said, beat both him and
Wayne in a handicap match.
JP: I can see Douglas winning this one, especially with the
fans support. I guarantee Stinger will be missing the fans support.
[Steven Douglas moves into the middle of the ring, standing
up before looking about the arena, adjusting his wrist bands as he glanced about
the audience, nodding in obvious approval. His music is cancelled out by the
sudden noise of Gunmans music and, with that, comes the sudden sound of jeering
and booing from the audience as they reluctantly turn their attention away from
the man in the ring and onto the man on the ramp. Correction. MEN on the ramp.
Insane Wayne stood there too, pointing and gesturing towards Gunman Stinger and
nodding as Stinger gestures at his title, grinning proudly. Steven Douglas
stands in the ring, looking decidedly unimpressed as he thrusts his hands onto
his hips, turning his head and spitting something from his mouth to the outside
of the ring.]
JP: Gunman Stinger loves that title,
but he is going to have to be very careful tonight if he wants to hold onto it.
Sully: You mentioned earlier that Stinger is going to miss
the support of the fans, but I dont agree. I dont think he is going to miss
them because he has the invaluable support of Insane Wayne by his side.
[And Gunman Stinger makes a spring for the ring, dashing
forwards after a short walk forwards and sliding under the bottom rope after
Douglas. S.D., displaying true sportsmanship, does not take the opportunity
presented to him to stomp on the sliding Stinger, but instead waits for him to
stand before hitting him with a huge right hook. Wayne trots down after Stinger
but waits on the outside, sporting the Television Championship as his eyes
remain on the ring and the competitors inside it. At some point when the camera
was on Douglas, the title had changed hands.]
JP: An early shot from Douglas and
Stinger didnt expect such an assault on the moment he reached a standing
position in the ring.
[Douglas gestures for Stinger to stand, the fans getting
behind him as Stinger stands and he wipes him out with a huge clothesline.
Douglas turns around, clapping his hands together and riling up the audience
before turning back and hitting the under-prepared Stinger with a monkey-toss
that causes Stinger to remain sprawled out on the mat for a little bit longer
than before. He would move into a sitting position, shaking his head and
complaining quietly to himself as he reaches out to take a hold of the bottom
rope that hangs there invitingly.]
JP: Steven Douglas getting the upper
hand so far. One thing Ill say about Gunman is that his recuperation time is
excellent. He can recover quickly and has a great ability to come from behind.
Sully: Heh
JP: Oh, grow up.
[Stinger manages to prove JPs claim true as he manages to
reverse a punch that is thrown towards his face, brushing it aside quickly and
reversing, whipping out and clapping his hand across the face of Douglas,
knocking him backwards a few steps. The match really starts getting heated now
as the two shift into the middle of the ring and begin to exchange blows.]
JP: Both of these men giving it their
all. After all, the match is for the title and- Heh. Grant August trying to get
the title away from Wayne in order to show it to the audience to show exactly
what is on the line, but Wayne is not letting him.
Sully: Thats bad refereeing from Grant, taking his eyes
off the match in order to commence an obscure and needless tradition. Its just
plain silly.
[Gunman takes advantage of Grants distraction and hits
what is a more than obvious low blow. Douglas screams in pain and drops to the
canvas, rolling out of the ring in the hope to be able to get a chance to
recuperate. Grant turns back to the ring as the audience start to complain and
this gives Wayne a decent chance to land a huge stomp to the prone Douglass
head. Douglas screams out, clutching to his head as he rolls onto his side, the
sound of the fans getting louder and louder. Douglas was in a bad way on the
outside of the ring, clutching to his face as blood began to run freely down
from his nose. Wayne would back off from the ring, hands outstretched as he
pleads his innocence to the referee who glares at him.]
Sully: The referee didnt see it so
he cant order Wayne out! Fantastic tactics by Wayne and Stinger!
JP: Thats despicable! Terrible tactics and that could
spell as early exit for Douglas.
[The referee, giving Wayne the benefit of the doubt, leaves
him although he does not bother with a ring-out count for the fallen Douglas. In
fact, hed climb between the ropes, leaving the ring and dropping down to the
outside in order to check on him. Douglas shrugged August off, struggling to his
feet and rubbing at the blood that streamed down the lower half of his face. The
referee would lend an arm to help Douglas but he is thrown off by the bloodied
competitor who seemed determined on getting back into the ring of his own
accord. Stinger takes advantage of Douglass sluggishness after he was clocked
in the nether-regions and slides along the canvas, slamming his feet into the
face of Douglas, sending him sprawling across the mat on the outside of the
ring. ]
Sully: What a shot!
JP: What a cheap- shot, you mean. Stinger making the most
of Waynes outside interference.
[Stinger moves out of the ring after him, muttering
something to a section of the fans as they start to yell abuse at him. Hed slap
his chest, shouting at them before turning back to Douglas and leaning down.
Douglas is quick to retaliate, whipping out a hand and punching him in the
midsection, catching him off guard and slowly, sluggishly, pulling himself up to
his feet. Gunman stumbles back a few steps before darting forwards and slamming
a hand across the face of Douglas and, before giving him the chance to retaliate
again, grabbing him by the back of the neck and hauling him towards the ring.
Hed roll him beneath the bottom rope, sliding in after him before going for the
cover...12..Douglas gets the shoulder up. Gunman does not look surprised,
leaning up on his knees and slapping his hands onto his thighs, licking his
lower lip as he hauled himself up again, facing his downed opponent. Hed stomp
down upon the head of him once more, taking the time to taunt him as he stood
above him, looking down. Wayne turned around, gesturing towards the title to the
audience who receive his taunts badly.]
JP: Gunman Stinger is in complete
control of this match up. He is not giving an inch as he piles the pressure on
Steven Douglas.
Sully: And this is undeniable proof of Gunman Stingers
intelligence. He is a fantastic competitor. One of unbelievable skill and smart.
And whats more, hes a snazzy dresser, too.
JP: Hes nothing but a malicious opportunist. Wayne and
Stinger deserve each other.
[Gunman stomps again before dropping down and commencing a
choke that the referee starts to call a count on. 1! 2! 3! 4! Gunman lets go,
pulling himself up into a standing position in order to return his attention to
stomping again. All the while though, Douglas is starting to show signs of
recovering. Hed raise his face, temporarily putting himself at risk of
receiving a harsher blow but, somehow, managing to make it to a sitting
position, his head being knocked back every so often by a hard kick. Hed
eventually make it into a standing position, much to the shock of his opponent
who attempted to bring him down with a running clothesline. It did not work.
Bouncing off the ropes behind him, Gunman would run at Douglas but instead of
knocking him down, would be blasted off his feet by a huge forearm shot from
Douglas. The fans boom, getting behind the challenger as he drops down and goes
for the cover....12Stinger gets the shoulder up just about. Douglas kneels up,
shaking his head as he glances about the arena before laying back, breathing
heavily. The toll was being taken from him now after his flurry of adrenaline
and hed lay back facing the glaring lights dotted about the ceiling. Neither of
them looked as if they were going to be getting up anytime soon, although it
looked as if it would be Douglas that got up first. Wayne was getting behind
Gunman, but what seemed like the entire congregation of fans got behind Douglas
as both men struggled to beat the down count from the referee and beat each
other to an erect position first. They both, somehow, manage to make it to a
standing position at the same time. It was a matter of wit and speed now as they
draw back fists and fling them at each other. Douglas comes out on top, blocking
the fist of Gunman with his wrist before nailing him with a kick to the gut
followed by a massive choke slam! The fans go mental as GMS hits the canvas and
Douglas drops to his knees before leaning over for the cover....12The referee
is dragged out of the ring by Insane Wayne. He comes to a stand in front of
Wayne and begins to start shouting at him. Wayne would smile, looking bemused by
the whole thing as he raises his hands up into the air to plead his innocence.
Meanwhile, inside of the ring, Douglas looks up, looking confused and extremely
angry to find the referee on the outside with Wayne. He would kneel up, looking
on in disbelief.]
JP: This is sickening! Waynes not
even part of the damn match and he just savedhe just saved GMSs damn bacon!
Sully: He was just being a loyal team mate. Hell, you would
of done the same thing, JP.
JP: I would of minded my own business, thats what I would
of done.
Sully: GMS would of kicked out anyway, and you know it.
JP: He would of done no such thing! He was out for the
count and YOU know THAT, Sully!
[Douglas slides out of the ring, managing to avoid Waynes
attention as he does. He grabs onto the Television Championship that was left on
the ring apron and, in one, swift movement, clubs it over the head of the
ex-General Manager. The fans go wild as Wayne hits the floor, collapsed there as
Douglas turns, drops the title and makes his way back into the ring. By the time
that he gets back though, GMS is waiting, adjusting something on his hand as
stands there. Douglas rolls under the rope, stands up and is swung for. Hed
duck swiftly, needing to as it seemed that GMS had a set of brass knuckles
across his fist before turning around, nailing him in the midsection again
before hitting The Enervator!]
JP: The Enervator! The Enervator! The
Enervator!
[The crowd goes wild as he drops down for the cover and the
referee gets into the ring....123! The bell rings.]
JP: Weve got a new MWF Television
champion!
Sully: What?!
JP: Douglas has done it! Hes won the Television
championship!
[The title is passed to Douglas as he moves to his knees,
looking in pain as his arms are lifted up, one of them by the referee who slaps
the title over his shoulder.]
Peter Santos: And your winner, through pin fall, and new
Maximum Wrestling Federation Television Champion, Steven Douglas!
[Steven Douglas raises his middle finger at Insane Wayne and rolls out of the
ring with the MWF Television Championship. He smiles, but refuses to shake the
hands of any fans as he makes his way up the entrance ramp.]
JP: A great win for Steven Douglas, it's taken long
enough for him to claim MWF gold.
Sully: Gunman Stinger will be fuming.
