[MWF Dynamite
comes back from a television commercial. Tim Sullivan is standing in the ring
and Father John Ramsey�s hymnal music starts to play over the PA system.
The fans in the crowd give a mixture of responses, 75% cheers and 25%
boos. He walks out from the back in his typical priest�s robes.
He shakes hands with a few fans and gives out a few Bibles. One randomly flies
back at him and nearly takes his head off but it misses and he quickly scoops it
up and gives it to another small kid and pats him on the head. He
walks into the ring and walks over to Tim Sullivan who stands in the center
waiting for him. Father Ramsey makes his way to him and his music quits
playing. Sullivan begins speaking.]
TIM SULLIVAN:
Father, it has been nearly three weeks since we last saw you here on Dynamite.
You were in a �guest referee� position. It has been nearly four weeks
since your last wrestling match. What is going on?
[Father Ramsey
nods his head.]
FATHER JOHN
RAMSEY: You are right, Tim, it has been too long. But truth is
that I�ve had a lot of things to keep up with. Things that are more important
than professional wrestling to keep up with. But I have a special
announcement for tonight.
[Tim Sullivan
seems kind of caught off guard.]
TIM SULLIVAN:
And what is that?
[Father John
Ramsey looks proud as he is about to make his announcement.]
FATHER JOHN
RAMSEY: I have decided to withdrawal myself from the Television Title rankings
and intensify my efforts to gain the Maximum Wrestling Federation World
Heavyweight Championship!
[There is a
slight pop from the crowd.]
TIM SULLIVAN:
Wow! What an announcement! What, might I ask, was your reason for
changing your goals?
[Father John
Ramsey laughs.]
FATHER JOHN
RAMSEY: Well Tim, my goals have always been the Heavyweight Championship.
But the main factor is that my goal in this federation is to reach as
many fans as I can. I understood that there was a decision to be made recently;
one that would send one of the Maximum Wrestling Federation�s superstars to head
over to our competition and represent us. I wanted that spot and
it was given to Gutter Rat, the sinner!
[Tim jumps into
the conversation.]
TIM SULLIVAN:
Don�t you think maybe that had something to do with the fact that you DIDN�T
MAKE TO THE PAY PER VIEW!?
[Father Ramsey
seems somewhat defensive and offended.]
FATHER JOHN
RAMSEY: TIMOTHY! I had a very good reason for not showing up that
night!! Truth is, my brother got into a fight with his wife that night!
My brother � he � he was so angry he cursed God! He cursed God our Lord!
And he needed me! He needed my support! Family and God
come before wrestling! God told me to help my brother and that is exactly what
I did! Anyone in this building would have helped their brother
too!
[Father Ramsey
gets a mixed reaction from the excuse he has for being out of the pay per view.]
TIM SULLIVAN:
That is fine, but how does the CEO Walker know that you wouldn�t have any more
family problems to keep you out of the show!?
[Father Ramsey
is started to get heated. He takes the microphone from Tim�s hand and looks
like he is about to yell at him but keeps his cool. He takes a few
deep breaths before speaking.]
FATHER JOHN
RAMSEY: Timothy, don�t worry about it. I�ll show up. I�ll be
here next week despite the fact that I�ve got two weddings, three babies to
baptize and several other important church functions to attend.
I�ll be here. And soon I�ll be the World Champion and the world will be able to
see God�s power!
[He drops the
microphone and leaves the ring. He walks to some fans who reach out for a high
five. Father Ramsey passes him up for a second and then comes back
and gives the kid a five. The fans cheer a bit when he does that and continues
handing out some more Bibles. He stops; breaks a smile and raises
his arm and gets a bigger pop than he has received all night.]
