Brian sweetie, you are the truest friend, really... thank you so much for being there for me and for Marty too. He mentioned that you wrote him... he was so sweet... he came to the pool with raspberries that he picked and we sat on a towel and shared them, and the way I knew that he'd either talked to you or gotten an email from you was that he actually said POINT BLANK EXACTLY WHAT WAS ON HIS MIND
He said, "Christy I'm just afraid that there might be problems because of your age. The Doctor is sure that you'll be all right, isn't he?"
I said, yes, my obgyn said that SHE is sure lmao that I'll be fine, that women have babies older and older and while 43 is pushing the envelope a little, I'm in really good physical condition and she sees no reason that I should have any trouble.
Then he wanted to know, "Well, will the baby be OK?" And I just said, "Well, Marty, sweetheart, we're going to find out, aren't we?" And he laughed and said "I'm really scared, Chris." And I said, "Me too," and then we kissed and that was really nice.
I think it caught him off guard. I don't know if Marty is ready to be a father, but ready or not, here it comes! No, I think he's ready and he doesn't know it. He's like you because he likes his independence... I think it does him good to know you and see that just because you have a little one your life doesn't have to go all topsy turvy. Especially for a man, lol... as Margo says, I'm the one with the boobs.
He said "I don't now if I want you working" and I said, "Well, Margo said the answer to that is 'whatever you say, sweetie.'" He liked that one, Marty's such a good man. I'm so lucky. Lucky to have him, lucky to have you and Margo in my life.
Really can't wait to come up Bri and see you two and Margo's folks and BECCA. So sorry the groundhog upset her. I hope you don't feel like you said or did the wrong thing 'splainin to her honey... she has to lern about these things sooner or later and like THE TALK, it never feels like a good time. You are a good man, a loving Dad, and she will feel better about it all.
And I don't know why I never ask what Margo did to you Bri. Is there something you need to get off your chest?
I think the way it works, Bri, is that you GUYS are supposed to discuss between yourselves what we girls do, and we girls talk about what you guys do, lmaaaao.
Anyway Bri I had to write you and say thank you for writing Marty, thank you for writing me, thank you for your prayers and friendship and love that goes way beyond what we shared so long ago. I feel like that was just a prelude and that THIS is what it all led up to.
Gonna shoot Margo a reply (no IM tonight!!) and then get to bed since tomorrow I have to be in at nine to get stuff set up for our swim meet.
Love you Bri. Thanks again. xoxoxoxo christy
