Whats Going On: Liz's father forbid Liz and Max to see each other. Liz snuck out almost every night to see Max. Now Max wants to talk with Mr. Parker.

Outside the Crashdown:
Max took a deep breath in. He had talked to Liz about this. She thought it was a bad idea. But he didnt know what else to do. They couldnt go on like this. And he was not breaking up with Liz so this was the only option. He pushed through the doors of the Crashdown and hurried in. He had to move quickly or Mr. Parker would throw him out.

"No you don't , no you don't!!!" Mr. Parker yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Mr. Parker, please, I need to talk to you." Max asked desperately.
"GET OUT! Before I throw you out." He bellowed.
"Please!" Max asked one last time.

Mr Parker took a step forward and slightly shoved Max. Before anyone could do or say anything else. Liz was in between them.

"Stop! Max go." She said firmly.
"Okay, I'm going" Max said reluctantly. And he turned around to leave.

Mrs. Parker has seen the whole thing. She ran out to Mr. Parker and said with a slightly raised voice "Max wait!" And Max spun around with a questioning look on his face.

Mr. Parker's eyes widened in disbelief and he yelled "NO!...." he started to say more but Mrs. Parker whispered something in his ear. Max and Liz watched with interest at how his demeanor changed rapidly. His eyes widened in realization of something and his face went from tight and angry to soft and sad. He looked at his wife and left the Cafe by going into the back. Liz and Max stared after him with stunned faces. Liz looked at her mother  begging her wordlessly to tell her what was going on with her poor father.

"Max, do you have somewhere to be?" Mrs. Parker asked softly.

Max misunderstood the intention behind the question and replied "Um, no not really, but  I'll go."
"If you dont have any place to be, could you maybe stay here in the Cafe for a while? Jeff and I need to talk to you and Liz later."
Max unprepared for that, fumbled and said " Uh yeah, sure. Thanks.....Mrs. Parker."
"Mom.....?" Liz asked questioningly.
"Don't worry honey, your father's fine. Get back to work and we'll talk to you later"
"Okay fine, but you have to promise to tell me what's going on later"
"I promise. Now go, there are customers waiting."
"Ok, ok, ok I'm going." She turned and kissed Max on the cheek and touched his stomach briefly. Then she walked over to a family of five to take their order.
"Max, don't keep her from her work" Mrs. Parker said sternly.
"Of course, Mrs. Parker." Max said with a a serious expression on his face.

Mrs. Parker just nodded and walked thru the door to the back. Then continued on to the upstairs apartment.

2 hours later:
Max has been watching Liz for the past few hours from his regular booth. He couldn't help but to think about what he was going to say to the Parker's? What were the Parker's going to say to him? What were they going to tell him? Was he going to be allowed to see Liz? Or were they going to try and get a restraining order? Max forced himself out of those increasingly depressing thoughts by trying to focus on Liz. He watched, with a smile on his face, at how she ran around the room taking people's orders and bringing others their food and drinks. His smile widened at how she took it all in stride. She didn't even give it a second thought. Max and everybody else in the Cafe was startled by a loud CRASH!  That lazy waitress Agnes had just dropped and broken 3 plates. Liz had an exasperated look on her face as she grabbed a broom and started to sweep it up. Then she got a dustpan and bent over to sweep it in. Max was watching and he was thinking at how that short short Crashdown dress pulled up so that you could see... *WHOA! Max stop that thought right there* he thought to himself. Liz finished up and walked over to him.
