A Chinese meal is usually comprised of two parts, the staple, made up of starches sych as rice, noodles or buns and sometimes meat dishes. Chopsticks are the primary eating utensil, families or guests will gather around a communal bowl or plate and will fill a personal bowl with food. Typically, the meal starts with a cold dish which contains salt, sugar and chilli powder. Then the hot dish, this is cooked by either stir frying or deep frying the course. Unlike in America, soup is served after the main dish, which are thickened from starches such as corn.A favorite snack found in China are called Xiaochi, these are a sort of a small pouch with various fillings inside.
