| Background: In February of 2003 I can to the relazation that I
wasn't going to be able to find a job in a timely manner even though
I had a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I had no choice but
to move back into my parents house. They had a half dozen hens(3
EEs, 2 Reds, and a Black Giant) and a Red Rooster that was extremely
hateful.
I started raising chickens in spring of 2003. I started by raising some Standard Barred Rock pullet chicks for my brother. In payment for raising them I kept 6 for layers. The next spring I really spread out and started several more breeds and got my first Mutt Bantams. I have moved to mostly purebreeds, but my mixed breeds will always have a place here. |
