Friends Some times our tolerance is put to the test.
But most of us with patience are blessed.
Recent times have been trying, we know that for sure.
Lots of strangers and questions we've had to endure.
Sometimes it is hard to keep a straight face.
with steve P. or Gracie all over the place.
I wish one of those strangers got spit in the eye.
Or make Richard sit down, let's see them try.
We wished really hard to make them go away.
So we could get on with our normal day.
A normal day might make us laugh til we choke.
Patrick, Richard, or Brian could give some one a poke.
A deaf, chinese speaking woman Wesley called me.
Then I looked out the window and saw Grace bite her knee.
Dave is having a huge rummage sale,
Selling walkmans, tapes and jewelry all under retail.
Planned ignoring is something we all practice here.
Especially whenever Dan the Jokeman is near.
Steven P. ran to me saying he wanted a kiss.
Moments like this I wouldn't want to miss.
To others this wouldn't be a normal day.
But I wouldn't have it any other way.
When others come they should look through our eyes.
And they could get the most pleasant surprise.
These aren't just "residents" but they are our friends.
To keep us young, alert, and caring on them we depend.©1990
