Accreditation Aftershock We all did our part to prepare for that day.
We worked all weekend when we wanted to play.
We got tired and wandered willy-nilly here and there.
Exactly what our task we weren't always aware.
The house parents worked to make the houses shine.
We had so many questions we formed a long line.
How do you? Why do you ? What did you say?
So many days started out this way.
We all learned about wonderful new things called IHPs.
Don't say those letter! Never again please.
I never thought you could hate a whole alphabet.
But IHP, BMP, BE, IDT, and LMNOP I want to forget.
We could have had a big party with the paper shreds and dots.
Streamers and confetti we had lots and lots and lots.
Doc said, "Can you do this?", "No problem!" we all say.
No task to hard "It's a piece of cake today."
We all got to the point where we were totally stressed.
At least we know we did our very best.
We did more in three months than others do in a year.
That gives us cause for the occasional tear.
Our accepted mild insanity even though unplanned,
Is far better than a permanent home in the forbidden La-La Land.
And while in the midst of all our meetings that final ACDD day,
Steven P. decided he really wanted to play.
He went to the bathroom laughing with such glee,
And smashed the toilet to pieces as small as can be.
Brought quickly back to reality, we all know why we're here,
And with a few months to recover we'll show them up next year.
